Olaplex is it really worth the expense? I am not convinced.

I have decided that my hairdresser has drawn me into the hype of having Olaplex treatment on my highlighted hair. I think she genuinely believes it to be a miracle product but having tried it several times now I am not convinced. The Olaplex treatment that she applies in the salon when I have highlights adds an additional £25 to the bill. I then have to buy Olaplex 3 at about £18-£23 depending where you buy it to apply weekly at home between treatments. My hair always looks fabulous when I leave the salon regardless of whether I have the treatment or not. When I decide to have it because of her glowing endorsement I always feel disappointed a week or so later and rather cheated of the additional costs. In July I decided not to have the treatment and last week I decided to have it again after the summer as my hair felt quite dry but honestly today even after applying the Olaplex 3 twice I can't say I notice the difference. There are a few but not many negative reviews on line, I just wondered what others thought. Is it just me doubting the hype? It is expensive enough going to the hairdresser and if I noticed a huge difference I wouldn't mind but I don't.

I prefer elastic force and elastic hair

I don’t have the Olaplex salon treatment but I use number 3 and 6 at home.
I notice a massive difference but I leave it on overnight, I wet my hair throughly, apply number 3 and leave it on then in the morning shampoo and condition as normal. Put number 6 on then dry and style.

The job of olaplex is to rebuild the parts of your hair that are damaged in chemical process, so you don't necessarily "see" the difference, but it's definitely there. The olaplex 3 that you take home helps keep the bonds together. Personally I prefer L'Oréal's name Smartbond, as the name suggests a bit better that it's rebuilding the bonds in the hair.
So many people pay for it believing they're getting a conditioning treatment and aw then disappointed, but that's because it's not a conditioning treatment and your hairdresser shouldn't be describing it as such.
It's a revolutionary product and really helps to reduce damage in colouring and definitely bleaching Smile

Ok, thanks all. Well maybe I should hang in there and hopefully will see the difference in time.

Olaplex has helped my extremely damaged hair. After a year of salon treatments with my highlights I'm noticing my slow growing, weak, fine hair is looking much thicker, stronger and healthier. As a conditioning treatment it's disappointing but that's not actually what it's meant to do.
