Best brow products?

Hello, I have really sparse pale brows so fill them in every day (can't afford microblading at the moment!). For a long time I have used the Soap and Glory archery pen but lately am finding it dries out within a week, so very poor value for money! Can anyone recommend a brow product for drawing on/filling brows? Would love to try a Benefit product but not sure how long it would last and they're very expensive! Thanks

I love Benefit eye products and they last ages. I've used the Goof Proof pencil before but prefer the finer Precisely, my brow pencil. I also use Gimme Brow which helps thicken. I'm pretty sure you can get them all in mini size (£11ish) so you could see if you like them first.

Boybrow is ace

Do you have a magnifying mirror? I bought a small 20x magnification one and you can see if your eyebrow area has downy hairs that are usually invisible.

I use an eyebrow dye and those tiny hairs pick up the dye and fills in your eyebrows to give a natural but full look. You can then add eyebrow pencil etc if you want but personally I don’t need to.

I’ve got lovely eyelashes thanks to Vaseline but I’ve never had very full brows so I find dyeing them at home is easy and gives fantastic results.

I apply with a cotton bud and leave on for much longer than the recommended time but if using for the first time please stick to their time in case of a reaction.

I second benefit goof proof brow pencil. It has really good precision and lasts a long time, so well worth the money.
They also have quite a selection in colours.

I can recommend a brow serum to promote growth. My sparse brows are looking much fuller since using it.

Buddyelf · 02/10/2019 13:32

Gimmebrow - I use it everyday. I like all of the Benefit brow products actually.

I have pale blonde brows which are fairly sparse so I use Clinique Soft Blonde Superfine Liner for Brows.

RainWoman19 · 02/10/2019 14:36

Rimmel eyebrow pencil. Stays put and works wonders for me. Often get asked who does my eyebrows 😉 moi!

EdwinaFlurry · 02/10/2019 17:30

I rate Gimmebrow too.
Also I have mine tinted every few weeks, the dye picks up even the fairest hairs so they look much thicker.

I use the Pro Revolution eyebrow poweder due then on top the Ardel Beauty Stroke pen which is similar to the Soap and Glory one you are using but doesn't dry up and stays on your brows for ages and then I use a Maybelline brow gel which annoyingly I can only get on eBay now. It has tiny fibres which boost my eyebrow hairs.

Another vote for Glossier Boybrow

poppym12 · 02/10/2019 21:04

I use NYX gel. It's the only think that is ashy enough for me.

I use the wax from Rimmel Brow This Way. I apply it with an angled brush to fill in sparse areas, and then apply a clear mascara to my brows to set them in place. The clear mascara from Collection works well for me and only costs a few pounds.

PeterRouseTheFleshofMankind · 02/10/2019 22:35

I use ABH Dipbrow but I wonder if it's a bit 2016 now?

Boybrow by Glossier is supposed to be excellent. Katie Jane Hughes on Instagram uses it all the time and her brows look so natural and amazing. You draw on the flicks like individual eyebrow hairs, like microblading, it probably takes a bit of practice but it really does look good.

Thanks everyone, lots of great suggestions and some really helpful tips, will go and look these products up Smile

Another vote for the Benefit brow products - definitely worth the money

StarryNightWithGrazingDeer · 03/10/2019 09:17

I tried the Boybrow Flick you mention Peter- it’s different from the original Boy Brow. Flick is a pen, whilst the original comes as a mini mascara wand applicator.

I love the original as it’s easy, quick and effective, one slick and you’re done, thicker, more defined brows but still natural looking.

So I was really excited to try the Boy Brow flick. But I found it really disappointing. Time consuming and ineffective. The colour was very transparent and it took a few pen strokes, going over one place repeatedly to create an individual hair. I could see how it might be useful to e.g. fill in a bald spot (if only the colour had any strength) but it was a big fail for me.

Becciej · 03/10/2019 13:52

Have you tried henna brows? It tints your brows and fills in the sparse areas. Depending on your skin type it can last 2-4 weeks, I charge £20 for it but I think that varied on your area and technician x

morrisseysquif · 03/10/2019 20:31

I use L'Oreal Artist Brow Plumper - it gets comments every time!

Dyeing works too

@Angelika321 which do you use?

Angelika321 · 03/10/2019 21:01

@morrisseysquif I used rapid brow for about 6 weeks and it's really made a difference.

Before and after pictures attached.

I'm now using the no7 equivalent as it's much cheaper and on offer at 3 for 2!
