Anyone use it? What do/did you think of it?

TO sacylic acid totally cleared up my skin and doing the aha bha once a week makes me absolutely glow. I didn't get much out of the retinoids so went to Paula's choice for that but given the price of TO stuff I don't mind if something doesn't work.

Fisharesexierthanme · 28/09/2019 20:16

TO is ok if you are on a tight budget but it just doesn't compare to some higher end brands that have better delivery systems and higher levels if the scruff ingredients

Crazycrazylady · 28/09/2019 21:11

Thanks paradise..

I've ordered on line so watch this space!

AntennaReborn · 28/09/2019 22:56

TO has completely transformed my 40-year old skin. Salicylic acid, niacinamide and the AHA/BHA mask are the only products I have found that help me keep on top of the hormonal acne I was getting around my jawline.

I am also a fan of alpha arbutin (gets rid of acne marks etc) and marine hyaluronic layered under retinol.

After a year of regular use, my skin is the best it has been since my 20s.

MustardScreams · 29/09/2019 07:41

@Fisharesexierthanme I don’t think that entirely true. TO doesn’t work for some skin, which is obvious here. But I’ve tried high-end products (Drunk Elephant, Sunday Riley etc) and whilst the textures may not be as good, I’ve had similar or better results with TO consistently.

Lanaa · 29/09/2019 07:58

I think it's terrible. I bought eleventy million of those little bottles and they did absolutely nothing. I also think it's a bit of a con. Yes the prices are low, but you need to layer so many £6ish things that you may as well buy a decent product that has all of the actives and moisturisers built in.

I like high end skincare, but if I wanted to use inexpensive products, I believe that the Superdrug radiant range and Simply pure serum are 10x more effective than TO.

The only half decent TO products are the coverage foundation and the squalene cleanser.

Fisharesexierthanme · 29/09/2019 08:56

MustardScreams I guess you are right. Different skins react differently. I find Sunday Riley to be huuuuugely good with my skin. The A+ retinol and Good Genes in particular. I found TO retinols and acids to be very ineffectual in comparison. As Lanaa says, I also found having to layer eleventy hundred £6 products to be a faff and possibly not a whole lot cheaper in the end. Not to mention the amount of clutter in my bathroom.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 29/09/2019 09:15

I use three TO products and that's it. As far as I'm concerned, the salicylic acid is the best thing. Sorted my horrible skin right out. I like the azelaic acid too. I also will put the amino acids on because they seem to help with scarring.

Ellapaella · 29/09/2019 09:52

I like their Argan oil. So much cheaper than Moroccan oil and it doesn't have that horrible perfumes smell that Moroccan oil does. I also love their rosehip oil and coverage foundation.

Youmeandthesea · 29/09/2019 14:20

I've used it for almost a year, I love it. I find the choice overwhelming so I emailed and asked for advice based on my skin concerns, I got a detailed response in a week or so. I've tried a few things but my favourites are the squalane cleanser and the moisturizer. The glycolic acid was great when I used to get annoying little bumps on my temples, it cleared it up completely in a few weeks, but now I use the new CeraVe salicylic acid smoothing cleanser, it does the same job but is a cleaner also so takes out a step. I use the Ordinary squalane cleanser in the morning and the CeraVe cleanser at night, followed by the ordinary borage seed oil and the ordinary moisturizer

JCStoner · 29/09/2019 15:02

I LOVE it , one tried cheap and designer skincare , this is simple and literally beats it all , it.wont transform your skin no lol nothing will , but it never breaks.me out makes.my.skin glow , never feel.dry but never dirty , I use the cleanser then the buffet serum with copper peptides and finish with the mosturizing factors, I also have the granactive retinoid serum for at night buylt I have yet to try it

Magsxx · 29/09/2019 17:12

I use the hyaluronic acid 7% toner, buffet and face wash. I love it, and so reasonable prices...

lynz76 · 29/09/2019 18:10

I've been using The ordinary products for over a year. The granactive retinoid 2% emulsion is amazing (particular for 8 quid!)... like botox in a bottle! The hyaloronic acid is also one of my faves (mixed with my 'poppy austin retinol moisturizer) and the peeling solution. I often get comments about my shiny face and do I have botox... which at 43 il happily take!

8dayweek · 29/09/2019 21:28

I too found that TO products seem to really suit my skin (though I don't use them exclusively). I have oily but a bit dehydrated skin, with regular breakouts (and lots of acne scarring from pre-roaccutane times). I also get quite a bit of congestion in areas.

I use a balm / oily cleanser (Clinique TTDO usually, if not maybe Emma Hardie Moringa Light), followed by an acid tone (Nip+Fab pads or Pixi Glow Tonic), then TO Niacidamide & Zinc, then TO Salicylic Acid, then TO Azelaic Acid, then a serum or oil (Body Shop Drops of Youth, TO Squalane or a Botanics oil) then a Moisturiser (Clinique usually - Skin Defense maybe? Though I currently have the yellow one).

It actually doesn't take very long at all (and this is only in the evening!). In the morning it's a quick cleanse, Niacidamide & Zinc, Moisturiser, SPF.

I'd say it's worth a go. I'm blown away by the difference and cancelled a consultation I had booked for a chemical peel.

I've currently got the Squalane cleanser, Moisturising Factors + HA on order too. I'm hoping they'll incorporate into my routine nicely.

MaryLennoxsScowl · 29/09/2019 22:13

I love the Niaciniamide but I must be the only person who doesn’t get on with the Buffet - tried it twice for a few days each time and I came out in little bumps under the skin all over my forehead both times. I’ve tried a few other things and also liked one of the vitamin c but the retinoid I tried didn’t seem to do much for me. Might try a stronger one in the range instead.

atomicnotsoblonde · 29/09/2019 22:19

I love it. Current fave is the buffet with copper peptides. Then retinoid and vit c in the evening. FECC morning and night on my eye area. I love it

MrsGface · 29/09/2019 22:39

I’d love to try it but am completely bewildered with where to start. In my 40s, skin quite dry and prone to rosacea. Currently use cetaphil to cleanse, and follow with argan oil. I find once I use the argan oil, It desensitises and allows me to use other products without redness or flaking. Also using Avene serum and moisturiser. Lately have been getting scaly breakouts around my nose, and my forehead lines look worse. Skin is also generally quite dull and dehydrated looking. What should I try?

AntennaReborn · 29/09/2019 23:07

@MrsGface I would recommend emailing them for advice, or going into a store if you are lucky enough to live near one

MrsGface · 29/09/2019 23:22

Excellent suggestion re store. I googled and there’s one 5 minutes from my work!! Going to head in this week :-)

Expo · 30/09/2019 01:08

I use TO buffet with copper, niaciniamide and hylauronic in the morning (with spf over the top) and retinol and Sunday Riley lactic (from USA) in the evening.

Then Botox every 6 months and boom here comes late 40s in one piece.

MustardScreams · 30/09/2019 01:18

See I like the layering! It feels like a mini facial when I put it on, in a way that putting 1 product on doesn’t compare to.

This may be because I have a 2 year old also I have no concept of relaxation anymore.

AntennaReborn · 30/09/2019 11:06

@MrsGface you lucky mare! Grin

I am hours away from the nearest shop! Their email advice service is very good though

OMG how do you all know what to get? It’s so overwhelming. I must have missed the skincare science lesson somewhere along the line. 😭😭😭
