How much does lip fillers usually cost?

I’m someone who’s got thin lips, and while many think they actually suit me, I’ve always wanted to have plumper/bigger lips. For that, I’m currently thinking of getting a lip fillers Wigan treatment from this aesthetic clinic that I’ve found online recently. But I just want to know, how much does this kind of filler treatment usually cost?

Only use a clinic that has drs or nurses inject fillers. Never use beauticians etc. Try and find someone that uses a cannula instead of a needle. The results are very natural and down-time is an absolute minimum.

I would expect to pay around £300 (maybe more) per ml in a very reputable place. You may need 1-2ml depending on how you want your lips to look.

Aesthetic clinic - sounds like it’s run by ‘Sandra and Ange’ both with trout pouts and inch thick eyebrows placed at weird angles.

I pay £280 per ml of Juvederm.

The thing is, if you’re getting filler for the first time the product may not last as long. I know most places advertise 6 months etc but I don’t think that’s necessarily accurate - you will metabolise some of the product so your lips will look smaller when healed then they did after you left the clinic. The filler will also migrate a tiny bit as you use your mouth as normal. So you may want a top up.

Controversially, the best lip filler I’ve ever had was from a beauty salon (and worst from a registered nurse). It can vary greatly in cost.

The cost can vary so much. A friend of mine recently had lip filler done at a clinic in London, by a very experienced doctor who used a cannula. It looks really good, very natural, and it cost her just over £900.

I really would favour a medical professional who has done further training in aesthetics over a beautician (though obviously some beauticians are really great at it), just because sometimes things go wrong or you might have a reaction and you need to know that they will be able to manage that. I would also look for someone who belongs to a specialist association, and has lots of experience. Ideally you want someone who has been personally recommended to you, because then you can see what results they get.

I would also beware anything that seems suspiciously cheap. Once the practitioner has paid for the actual filler, the equipment (eg to provide a sterile field), the cost of renting a space, the cost of insurance, etc etc you’re looking at a couple of hundred pounds per client, and that’s without their fee on top. If you’re paying a lot less than that alarm bells should be ringing!

To be honest I don’t necessarily like nurses for filler either, it’s like a baby step up from a beautician but they’re not the gold standard. Unless they are extremely experienced and have been administering dermal fillers for years etc.

I have been to a maxillofacial surgeon and he was absolutely wonderful (and expensive.) He just really understood the anatomy of the face and where exactly to place filler etc. He could just deliver the results you want without faffing and was realistic if he couldn’t.

As I have since moved across the the UK, I went to a popular nurse recently. He isn’t very good, he just doesn’t have a great eye for facial aesthetics and kept asking me where exactly he should inject rather than taking the initiative. I have had lip lumps and bumps, he didn’t really take my concerns seriously etc. Over a few months I have had 6ml of filler across my jaw and lips and I’m still not ‘there’ yet due to his placement. To be honest, I looked better before I went to him!

Never had lip fillers, but had chek fillers and i go to a dentist, they know where all facial nerves are so are usually very good , and registered

Cheek fillers

thisenglishlife · 24/09/2019 18:12

Wow, £900! Never considered how much it costs before.

princessTiasmum · 24/09/2019 18:21

Never heard of anyone paying £900, that's an awful lot of money, it can be done very well for much less,

StealingYourWiFi · 24/09/2019 18:24

I pay £90 cost price and have it injected by a consultant head and neck specialist surgeon. That’s mates rates. I also get my Botox cost price through another consultant head and neck surgeon. I believe that the one who does my lip filler charged a friend of mine about £380 though.

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 25/09/2019 08:59

Well, she did pay £900. Obviously that’s a lot of money, but this was in London at a high end clinic, and it looks really good. I’m sure it can be done well for less, but I just wanted to illustrate that the cost can vary depending on where you go.

MustardScreams · 25/09/2019 09:14

£900 isn’t that extreme. It could be 2ml at £450 per ml and I’d expect to pay that in top clinics.

People expect to pay £100 and wonder why they have filler shelf lips that look unnatural. The best fillers you can’t tell they’ve been done. That’s worth spending £900 on imo.

kjhkj · 25/09/2019 09:15

Its about £150-£250 here in the midlands

amibeingacunexttuesday · 25/09/2019 15:08

The clinic in Leeds that I use charge £200 per ml and there are three staff, 2 registered doctors and a registered nurse. You can pick who you would like your treatment with and they all charge the same.

princessTiasmum · 25/09/2019 23:50

£150-£200 here in general, and that is with an experienced and qualified asthaetician, not a beauty salon
