I think its more beach or BBQ than wedding

xx

ladymac · 11/08/2007 12:50

Can I be really old fashioned and say that if the wedding is in a church then you should have something to cover your shoulders.

You probably want an alternative to flip flops too just in case it turns cold and wet again!

Tamdin · 11/08/2007 12:50

charmkin I've been to 3 weddings this summer and there have been quite a few maxi dresses on show. Imo it's absolutley fine for a wedding esp if dress it up with jewellery. If doesn't feel dressy enough what about wedges instead of flip flops?

The whole suit/hat thing for a wedding now is a bit dated imo

ladymac · 11/08/2007 12:51

I saw a few people in similar styles on holiday.

Think you need to be quite tall to carry it off.

charmkin · 11/08/2007 12:51

no
is casual weddding in registry office and then a village green type thing with a hall
bride wearing knee length dress not white
she is 33 and he is french

Probably ok then. Just make sure you exfoliate your back and arms and whack on a bit of fake tan!

Tamdin · 11/08/2007 12:56

Total Hijack sorry
Lissie how did your apt with specialist go? will try find you in tea shop

ladymac · 11/08/2007 12:56

Charmkin, you must remember to describe yourself as having an hourglass figure!

belgo · 11/08/2007 13:01

charmkin - that's a lovely dress - I would wear it with black sandels, gold flip flops are't really suitable for a wedding IMO.

I do really like the dress though. I have one similar, but short.

charmkin · 11/08/2007 13:07

i really have tho
my dh say that
i go in and out
anything that fits on waist doesn';t fit on hips
anything that fits on hips is MASSive on waist
cue lots of a line skirts

OP posts:
ladymac · 11/08/2007 13:10

I am a similar shape and find that things fit better if I buy them to fit my hips then wear them quite low.

Don't A-line skirts make your hips look bigger?

I find things cut on the bias often work well.

ok am going with the wedges
but if it is cold ( like today)mdo I wear it anyway
have got a crochety shrugy thing but will that spoil it or do i start again?

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 15/08/2007 19:36

I think crochet might be pushing the 70s vibe too far
plain shrug or wrap would be fine
