Very light foundation that hides wrinkles without smothering skin...

Does it exist? Early thirties and for probably the first time in my life my skin is pretty much clear and spot free (yay). Except now suddenly I’m noticing fine lines on my forehead and not so fine elevens between my eyes. I don’t normally wear foundation but the ones I do have seem to make it look worse rather than better. Plus I don’t want to completely cover my face when I’m actually quite pleased with my skin (for once). Is there a solution (extra good if it’s affordable) or does such a thing not exist...

Maybe a tinted moisturiser? I find any foundation heavy and looks like I have undercoat on!

Propertyofhood · 21/09/2019 10:34

I don't think foundation can hide wrinkles can it? It's for evening out skin tone, concealing redness, hiding spots etc. You can choose a light foundation that doesn't sit in your wrinkles and accentuate them, but I don't think you can hide them.

I suppose moisturiser will help in keeping the skin, well ‘moist’!

Honestly ignore the fine lines on your forehead and 11's. I've had them since I was 8. No-one but you notices them. It's only when you get crows feet that you need to worry to the point that you are. I'm nearly 50 and have no crows feet or lines under my eyes. I put that down to wearing foundation or moisturiser with spf for most of my adult life and having a good skincare regime for the last few years.

Just look after your skin now. I use Nars tinted moisturiser for sheer coverage and various foundations ranging from Lancome Teint miracle to Clarins everlasting.

I always wear a serum or moisturiser under my foundation in the morning after a quick cleanse and this really helps skin look smoother, no need for a specific primer but use smash box or whatever which will help smooth over fine lines if you want.

Using an acid should help with your fine lines like a glycolic or Salicylic Acid. I use both regularly and they have helped smooth my skin all over. Start off with Pixi glow tonic and then do some research into stronger ones.

Then start using retinols which are the strongest and best way to keep skin looking younger.

BB cream? There are threads about them. I'm a fan of the Body Shop all in one version which comes in quite a few shades.

Tantric - I know, I didn’t think I would care at all. I’ve got sort of smile lines at the corner of my mouth which don’t bother me at all (I actually kind of like them). I think the frown lines are annoying because they’ve appeared after a very stressful 2 years and I don’t like the fact it’s apparently left a mark on my face... I will try the NARS though. With the acids, do you find them quite harsh? I have quite sensitive skin and am a bit reluctant to mess too much as I feel Ike I’m finally (11s aside) happy with it...

And also the bb cream from body shop. Thanks for the replies, i kind of thought there wasn’t likely to be a simple solition but thought it was worth asking

The new No7 protect & perfect is meant to be excellent. I’ve ready lots of good reviews about it. It doesn’t hide wrinkles, but it doesn’t highlight them either.

TableNiner · 21/09/2019 21:19

I can really recommend IT CC cream, comes in original and Matt. Not especially cheap though

Stick to tinted moisturiser instead of foundation, achieves almost the same look but it is much lighter.

I use Bobbi brown it's amazing

I am 60
At a wedding today I am wearing L’Oréal CC tinted moisturise
They do one that’s green in tone as I have a red butterfly thing on my face
It’s all good
By the way I have danced my socks off but we have reached the 00s abd I am having a nice sit down!
It’s such a cliche but none if it resonates with me
I feel like grannie in red corner but give no fucks!
I am loving watching everyone having a fabulous time and know they need to own their own music”
I may have drunk lots of gin 🤣)

SistersOfMerci · 21/09/2019 22:52

TickleMyFanny · 22/09/2019 09:16

Estée Lauder daywear tinted moisturiser- it’s universal so no skin match required

BeardedMum · 22/09/2019 09:24

I am 47. I only wear boots n7 really good on my skin. I don’t have many wrinkles but I find the older I get I use less coverage to look younger!
