I need an overhaul. Does anyone have any ideas?

I have been on holiday with my husband and toddlers and I have come back absolutely knackered. I feel really lack lustre. The only thing that’s okay is my hair cut. My belly is a bit wobbly and I am unfit. My ideas are, a new face mask, a bath with some muscle relaxing bath salts, shape and polish nails, take vitamins daily, start doing short exercise YouTube vids, but some new (supportive) trainers to replace my converse. Anything else? Trying to keep it low budget.

Plenty of water, running, slap on nightcream and hairmasks.

A mumsnet bra intervention helped me loads. You may not need it.

Thanks for the replies. Exercise classes are not possible, due to work rotas and child care. Diet needs looking at. I eat quite well on the whole, but I eat far too much sugar. A bra intervention may be a good call. I don’t drink enough water either.

I'd start with those, then. Don't add too much change at once or they won't stick. Maybe a habit tracker? I found listening to the book Atomic Habits while I did housework has led to some remarkable changes in my life.

Oh, and I just googled 'mumsnet bra intervention' for the details on how to measure properly at home.

I reckon the things that make the most difference (probably in this order) are:

Not smoking or drinking too much.
Getting enough sleep.
Eating well (loads of vegetables and lots of variety, cut right down on sugar, processed food and starchy foods, drink plenty of water).
Getting outside for a brisk walk (including some hills!) of at least half an hour in the fresh air every day. An hour if you can manage it.
A really brilliant, low-maintenance regular haircut by someone who knows how to work with your natural hair.
Teeth in good condition (see the hygienist twice a year for a scale and polish to top up your usual brushing and flossing)
A very basic skincare regime that you can keep up (e.g. exfoliating face once a week and using a night cream as often as you can)
Properly fitting bras (go to Bravissimo if you could be a D cup or above, or John Lewis/small indie if not)
Good quality, supportive, polished shoes
Good quality clothes (can be second hand) that flatter your figure and colouring, and that go together.
A very simple makeup routine (e.g. BB cream, curl eyelashes, mascara, tinted lip balm).

Most of that can be done for free or cheaply and really makes a difference to how I look and feel. I find the key is not to try to do too much too quickly and get overwhelmed.
