Face cream advice needed - I want to stick to "natural" creams but don't think they keep the wrinkles at bay!

I've used a variety of moisturizers over the years. My skin is good in that I have very few spots and I'm confident lazy enough to not wear foundation very often. Usually just eyebrow pencil and eyeliner/mascara.

But I'm approaching 40 and I have crows feet, 11s and lines from nose to mouth (don't know what they're called) .

I've read recommendations here for a night mask of Vaseline. But that's petroleum Confused . I want to stay natural and chemical free (chemical in the colloquial sense of the word, I know everything is made of chemicals from a scientific pov)

But I really think the natural stuff is not enough!!

I would like an eye cream and a moisturizer. I've been contemplating retinol but then I'd need to wear SPF daily which I currently don't.

I feel conflicted vanity of face vs health with not wanting to spend money on something that won't work thrown in too. Aaaarrrhggghhhhh

Facetheory have a code FB40 for 40% off your first order.
The products so far have been great.

www.facetheory.com/

They are vegan, cruelty free and don't use parabens, SLS, SLES or sulphates. We try to cater for sensitive skin by keeping the irritant level low.

Some of our products are available with fragrance as an option - however every single product is available unfragranced as standard.

I also love Dr Jackson’s -

I like REN

Their glycolactic face mask is very good. (I use it once a week)

Their creams as well, currently use the vit c stuff

Also like their Beauty Shot (hyaluronic acid)

Am 48 with “normal” but obv. Ageing skin

I'm 49 and lucky to be wrinkle free. I love cosmetics so I do spend quite a lot time going round the shops trying new stuff. My holy grail though is TKMaxx. You can find some really good brands there, like Ren or Omorovizca, for half the price

SMILE lines

What about Neal’s Yard? The rose facial oil is lovely but they have serums and moisturising creams too. It’s not the cheapest option but a little goes a long way.

JuneSpoon · 23/09/2019 07:57

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll check them out Smile

This is a good combination from Samantha Sona that is natural and certified organic but still very effective:

Kakadu Plum & Quandong Day Serum

Australian Sweet Orange Day Cream.

Retinol is the only ingredient proven to reduce fine lines, if you’re not willing to use retinol then the only way to treat marionette lines etc is injectables.

There are lots of other lovely ingredients out there that will hydrate your skin and make you look a little fresher (hyaluronic acid, squalene etc) but realistically they will not treat wrinkles.

Anti-science marketing about ‘natural ingredients’ won’t help you here.

Check out pestle & mortar skincare

I find the face serum and products from Origins great, my face was glowing using them!

However, I do agree with PP - 'natural' products are not going to help with wrinkles OP, retinol, glycolic acids or injectables halt/tackle them seriously....

Neal's Yard Frankincense range. Probably the best skincare I've ever used.

CrowleysBentley · 23/09/2019 14:20

The REN glycolactic mask recommended by a PP is excellent, so is the REN Ready Steady Glow daily Aha tonic.
