HELP! Clothes stress for hen do

I have clothes stress for a hen do I'm going to this weekend (there's nothing like being organised!). In fairness, I thought I was sorted, but this week's annoying transitional weather has thrown a spanner in the works. I was hoping we'd be properly into autumn clothes by now!

I have this afternoon in a large shopping centre before catching the train down, but am feeling very uninspired. Can you lovely mumsnetters suggest what you might wear to a hen do with

  1. Afternoon tea
  2. Cocktail making
  3. Club?

There is quite a lot of time between 1 and 2 so can change if needs be. Problem is it's so warm though the day and cold at night! It doesn't help that the bride is an old friend who moved away so I don't know the hen do city well at all, nor most of the other attendees...

Impossible to say without knowing what you usually wear/style you like/size & shape you are.

What was your plan before the warm weather? Maybe you can adapt that instead of a whole new look?

Of course Blush

Size 10-12, hourglass / pear shape: large boobs and hips, but relatively narrow shoulders. Not keen on thighs and need to define waist in some way.

Previous outfit was a skirt that I'm only comfortable wearing tights with as it hits mid thigh. Without tights the style doesn't really work and I'm not comfortable with that much skin showing. Was planning on wearing with jumper for day and "nice top" for evening and swapping flat boots for heels.

Style is quite simple: I don't like frills / ruffles / busy pattern and will tend to stick to block colours and usually prefer structured clothes rather than floaty: easier to define waist and shoulders so boobs don't take over! To reference another S&B thread running atm, I like to dress to be noticed because I look good (ie clothes flatter and show off my good bits), but not necessarily to be noticed for a particular item of clothing iyswim.

How about getting a midi length pencil skirt - lots of faux leather ones around that look pretty nice and might work with your tops without tights?

That could be a good idea! Can still do a plain t-shirt n the day and dressy top for the eve. What shoes would you go for, particularly for the day? And will it be very sweaty on a warm afternoon?!

I’d go for trainers and bare legs with a midi length
