Does anyone have this Uniqlo skirt? And a general moan about skirt lengths online

...and if so, could you very kindly measure the length for me, please?

www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/product/women-corudory-mini-skirt-418882.html?dwvar_418882_color=COL46&dwvar_418882_size=INS024&cgid=IDmini1347&hassubcat=false

On a related note, WHY do so few online shops manage to list the length of skirts and dresses? Hobbs do, for example, and it is so helpful. I waste far fewer orders from them because I have a much better idea of whether something will suit me or not. A vague "on/above/below the knee" is no help as the knees of a 5´ woman and a 5´10 woman are quite unlikely to be in the same place. Are there other shops that do list lengths online?

Don't have that skirt but I want to join your chorus.

I cannot understand in these days of online shopping that the length of skirts and dresses are included in the description. Pisses me off no end. I know exactly how long i would like my skirts to be.

Otherstories is great for including the length. Most others, including Topshop are appalling. Surely it's not difficult to ad in length detail?

BigFatBloomers · 18/09/2019 10:35

The size charts says the length is 43cm or 44cm for the largest three sizes.

CmdrCressidaDuck · 18/09/2019 13:12

Or even if they can list the height and dress size of the model. As a shortie I always find it a useful benchmark to know whether I'm looking at a model who is 5'8" or 5'11".

NoTheresa · 18/09/2019 13:39

Generally models are tall.

Kilash · 18/09/2019 14:33

Most on line retailers include lenghts - click 'size guide' and it details the lengths.

Gigglebert · 18/09/2019 15:00

The models height is given for the other colour options if that helps?

championquartz · 18/09/2019 15:01

I find the opposite Kilash.

LaDameAuxLicornes · 18/09/2019 15:44

@bigfatbloomers ah thanks - I'd assumed "size guide" was the generic guide to the fit of Uniqlo clothes, not the specific guide to that skirt.

Me too. I was quite impressed that they had.

When I looked at another one just to check, they even gave the length of the slit in the skirt.

MikeUniformMike · 18/09/2019 16:03

Many sites list the height of the model.
With jeans, a cropped pair of jeans will be often listed by the inside leg measurement of the intended wearer, not the inside leg length of the garment - I think Uniqlo do this.

LaDameAuxLicornes · 19/09/2019 10:02

@MikeUniformMike yes, I agree the height of the model is often given - the problem for me there is that I'm 5´2, and models tend to be 5´7 as an absolute minimum and usually taller. So it doesn't really give me much of a guide!

However, Uniqlo and & Other Stories are being added to my list of "places that do", which is great.

MikeUniformMike · 19/09/2019 13:28

I think at 5'2" you need to look for clothes marketed as petite or have a good idea of what will suit you. Midi and 3/4 or 7/8 lengths look odd on me - i'm about a couple of inches taller than you but don't have long legs.
Some shops/companies cut for a shorter or taller person.
Uniqlo and M&S are fine on me, top end high street tends to be a bit long.

lindyloo57 · 19/09/2019 18:41

I agree, when it says a midi skirt, or dress, it can be anything from just under knee to past the carf.
