Help!! Rosacea skincare

optimisticpessimist01 · 17/09/2019 20:11

My DSis suffers from rosacea, her skin flares up to be quite red and can become quite irritated

For her upcoming birthday I want to get her a really good skincare product to help combat the redness. She isn't particularly into her skincare so if I found her a "miracle" product I know she would be so grateful

Does anyone have any recommendations for cleansers/moisturisers that help reduce the redness from rosacea?

Thank you in advance!!

I would recommend she sees her GP and asks about Soolantra. It has totally cleared my horrific rosacea, after the misery of roaccutane.

Sadly nothing fancy as you need really gentle products. But it's a lovely idea to find some products which may help. Cetaphil is amazing - I only use the cleanser as I found the moisturiser made my face too greasy. I use diprobase/double base as a moisturiser and also use salycilic acid a couple of times a week/when I remember (sounds harsh but it's not). I occasionally use a charcoal facemask. (Both fairly basic from Amazon). The only thing that's really made a difference though was a trip to the gp (mine was pretty awful) and makeup to disguise.

I find tropic skincare products amazing for my sensitive and rosacea prone skin.

They do an ABC kit which is lovely and gentle and has been the best thing I've ever used on my skin. I also find that their tamanu balm definitely reduces redness from rosacea and eliminates mild outbreaks.

Their products are natural and non toxic.

If her rosacea is bad she needs to get some antibiotic cream from the GP though and work out and avoid her triggers. Mine in sunlight so I never go out without factor 50 on.

I agree, Soolantra all the way.

Sollantra really helped me but be earned it can make it much worse before it gets better so don't do as I did and start using it the week before I went to holiday!

A nice gift would be products from the Avene Tolerance range. You can get them in the bigger Boots. I use the cream cleanser and it has totally calmed down by skin. There are moisturizers and other products too.
