I have been using a Kiko one with SPF 15 which is quite nice but wondering what else is out there.

I want as high SPF as possible and one that will keep my skin hydrated throughout the day. My skin is quite dry. Oh and not too shiny if possible!

Have a look at Dr Sam's Flawless Daily Sunscreen. It's v v moisturising (I don't use a separate moisturiser) and also works as a make up primer. You need to use a look to get the full SPF, but amazingly it all absorbs in really well.
Have a look on YouTube for a demo video.

Alpha-H do an SPF 50 one that is really lightweight.

Kiehls or Helios.

Cerave SPF 25 is great. Don't buy the Boots Your Good Skin one even though it's SPF 30, it stings like hell if it gets in your eyes, which it inevitably will.

Nivea do (used to do?) a nice SPF 30 cream in a pot, called something like 'age spot' but it seems to have disappeared from my local Boots.

I've just bought the Beauty Pie SPF 25 but I haven't used it yet. Good reviews though.

Ultrasun spf 30, all day protection (if applied correctly), moisturising, anti ageing (apparantely!). More of a Sun cream than moisturiser..

The only cream with spf that I've tried that doesn't bring me out in spots.

Best to leave 20 mins or more before applying make up but if i need to do sooner, I blot face with a tissue first.

I use Biore watery essence. Absorbs brilliantly, no white cast. No clogging or spots. Also good as a make up primer.

Clarins multi active day cream 20spf. Been searching for one for ages, this is very good. Also have dry skin

Lidl do a 30 which is quite rich

Make sure to get a broad spectrum SPF to protect against both UVA and UVB rays. Some, even with a high SPF, don’t protect against both. UVA exposure can cause premature ageing.

Thank you, some great suggestions. Think I want an actual moisturiser rather than sunscreen.

Prescriptives do a good one with SPF 25

Richcreamerybutter · 19/09/2019 01:49

My top picks are: Simple SPF 30- great value non irritating, non greasy yet hydrating at the same time. The body shop multi protection essence SPF 50- very lightweight, almost watery consistency, but not as hydrating due to its high alcohol formula. I also like the Transformulas flawless photoglow SPF 30- absorbs quickly, doesn't cause eyes to sting and doesn't leave any chalky residue/ whitecast. Most importantly is all of them protect against uva and uvb

The problem is though you have to think about what chemical sunscreens actually contain, the fact they are being absorbed into your bloodstream, and what that does over time. Also, the nano particles are not biodegradable and end up in the water system.
