Microdermabrasion anyone?

Has anyone done this?

I have had a red blemish on my nose for months and months and I'm sick of it. Tried witch hazel, tea tree oil, neither have helped. I've been to the GP after mumsnetters scared me on a previous thread, it's of no concern. Anyway, I'm desperate for it to be gone, it's bright flashing red. Might this treatment help? And how do you find a reputable place to do it? Google hasn't helped me there, just came up with places near by which look like really down market salons by the side of the main road etc...

Thanks in advance!

Did the doctor rule out rosacea? Microdermabrasion is not suitable for people who have rosacea, so it would be good to make sure the blemish isn’t that before going ahead.

Hmm, she didn't say.

After a quick search of previous posts I'm wondering if a glycolic peel would be more effective actually.

If it is Rosacea, would a peel be ok?

I don’t know, I’m afraid.

I like microdermabrasion and it brightens my skin. Peels are a more effective treatment and I love them!

I don't know if these would be right for your skin but worth going to the skin clinic and they can advise properly

Thanks summer.

Jelly how do you find a good skin clinic? Are those sk:n comics any good?

Thanks, any idea how I find out which places are reputable?

@MonsteraCheeseplant sorry that's the place I meant ski:n I went there years ago and saw a dermatologist who recommended products and treatments. Expensive but had some good offers on courses and worth it

Agree with @Soola I'd make sure you go to a medical professional rather than a beautician to ensure you are getting the right treatment at first

Soola, fascinating article - thanks. Makes me wonder whether even a facial scrub (just a normal one for normal exfoliation) is ok to use frequently!
