A teddy coat!

My coat selection is enormous and includes protected specie raincoat, Isla Jacobson raincoat, north face artic parka, smart work double breasted coats, military style coat, summer coat etc etc

But... don’t have a teddy coat. Something like the attached.

I’d love in charcoal.

Any thoughts or recommendations please?

Saw it in Primark yesterday. So grim.

PP is right. One rain shower and you would look like a dog caught on in the rain. 🤣

Just cos a gorgeous model wears it, doesn't mean you will look the part...

I’m surprised at how divisive a teddy coat can be but with anything fur If you buy cheap it will look cheap. Having said that & other stories had a lovely teddy coat last year which was lovely.

I have two - a beautiful tan Whistles one which was £££, but I got in the sale, and is going into its fourth winter, and a less expensive chocolate brown Zara one I got last year. I love both of them, they are very cosy, and I am looking forward to it being cold enough to wear them. I agree with pp that they are no good in the rain, but I don’t wear them on wet days.

Don't listen to the haters op, I've got this gorgeous one (Topshop 2015) and I bloody love it, it always gets comments good and bad, usually the bad ones are from people that favor a fleece and ill fitting jeans so it washes over me as I'd rather be known for wearing clothes that get reactions rather than meh clothes that are boring AF.

I've got this Alexa Chung fur coat too. I love it. Again, not everyone's thing but I don't care!

I want to love Teddy coats as I love cute and cosy things.

They look cheap and shapeless though.

I love a teddy coat - but not the ones that are actually the colour of bears.

I really like some of these. The &Other Stories one is nice. Really like the Uniqlo one and am tempted to order one. Bizarrely I'm not sure about the Max Mara one. It looks like it would feel like snuggling an alpaca which would be amazing but something about the cut isn't doing it for me. Possibly because I just can't do oversized anything, it looks shit on me.

I bought a bottle green one with a hood in Primark last year, reduced to £8. I had only popped in for trainer socks! But I have worn it quite a bit and it's had lots of compliments - and I'm definitely not the type of person to own a fleece as someone upthread suggested

I saw some in Asda the other day which were about £25. I would suggest that, if you want to pursue this angle out of a sense of completism, you go for the cheapest option you can find so that it's less of a problem when it gets rained on and starts to smell.

This is what the max mara looks like on. You can see the cut better here. They are not shapeless however any fur coat isn’t cut to enhance your shape so to speak.
I think some posters are getting confused. Teddy Coats are not the same as a fur coat.

@Ivgotasecretcanyoukeepit I just posted a picture of my fake fur coat just because I love it, I know it's not a teddy.
I'm not so keen on the brown ones for some reason, I also have the blue in cream. It was reduced so I had to have it!

Teddy coat are not very nice- they look cheap and scruffy and matted like an old bear.
Go for a really soft faux fur- H&M had a lovely brown fur coat last year- think they've got a soft grey one this year.

@Fresta I think you need to spend a certain amount to get good quality, at the time I bought my Topshop one, it was the most expensive coat I have ever bought, until I bought the Alexa coat 3 years later!

I'm intrigued by the uniqlo one as it's so cheap, I tried one on in New look today in black, really liked it but I might risk the uniqlo online order to see how it measures up (I've blown my coat/jacket budget already this year so won't be spendy on a teddy coat).

The Mango ones are incredibly good quality for the price, all squashy and heavenly and lush.

I noticed this in the shop when I was cuddling them vigorously, When I looked them up Mango generally comes out top in fake fur/teddy recommendations.
