I need some inspiration!

I've started freelancing again after a gap of about 7 years during which time I was travelling into central London for work. I work in the arts for reference so was reasonably smart (in an artsy way) - think leather jackets, interesting jewellery, slightly androgynous look with the odd quirky dress. I also have very short hair with an undercut / slightly longer on top. And I'm 41!

Now I'm freelancing again, I'll be working from home a lot of the time. Last time I worked for myself this resulted in my ending up feeling pretty shitty about the way I looked. Admittedly it coincided with having very small children so that probably didn't help Smile. I've already started slipping into the same habits, so ancient leggings. knackered t-shirts, hoodies, gym trainers.

So I need a bit of inspiration. Some ideas for a very dressed down comfortable look which doesn't make me feel as if I haven't brushed my hair in six months 😂

Any thoughts?

I love my comfy clothes even before I was pregnant, I found that finding patterns trousers that were comfy or baggy jumpers or quirky cardigans really helped to stay stylish! Another thing I found is that if the clothes are plain and simple and you cba for makeup then hairs another way to look stylish without too much effort. Space buns were always a win win with me! Xx

I work in the artsy side of media and think I get what you're after - on my WFH days I tend to either just go for jumpsuits (denim or linen depending on the time of year) or else boyfriend jeans, long vest (Hush) and a fisherman's smock that's a bit Margaret Howell but actually cost £20 in Cornwall!

Have recently bought a Breton dress in the Uniqlo sale which I'm wearing around the house with leggings and is incredibly comfortable. Otherwise jersey culottes/wide-leg trousers + a t-shirt is very easy to wear.

There are lots of Hush fans around here and their stuff is good for dressed-down, though I don't get on with their trousers (wrong cuts for me) and find the t-shirts look great but don't wash very well. Their sweatshirts though, particularly the dolman sleeve sloppy joe ones, are great. Hope that helps!
