Forehead bumps be gone...

Just come back from two weeks in France. I wear sunscreen almost daily at home, daily on holiday. Drank usual amount of water. Maybe showered a bit more.

My skin looked AMAZING. Very little tan. I have had forehead bumps for years. My forehead was smooth whilst on holiday, and within the weak of being back it’s bumpy again.

Why is this? Does anyone know? Can’t find anything on google. Can’t bloody work out what it is. I used all the same products.

Could it be the zinc in the sunscreen?

sheshootssheimplores · 10/09/2019 22:15

Or the good you were eating? More activity on holiday? The salt in the water?

Chillichutney1 · 10/09/2019 22:46

Are these small bumps at the hairline? I had this years ago and nothing would touch them.. in the end someone suggested nizoral shampoo and they were gone in days. Try nizoral shampoo on them, it may be a fungal infection

JuniperBeer · 10/09/2019 23:19

@chillichutney1 no, they’re just all over, they’re tiny. Skin coloured, not spots. Not white. Not red. Just a bit bumpy. A bit like millia if I google.

I use the same sunscreen at home as abroad- just ultrasun 30. @sheshootssheimplores so I don’t think so. We were next to a freshwater lake, no saltwater in site. Did do lots more than usual on holiday, mainly sailing/padde boarding. Can activity have such an affect immediately?

I was thinking it would be something to do with the sun, but I thought the sun was supposed to make you wrinkly, not your skin ultra smooth in a week!

I don’t really wear makeup, maybe a bit of mascara. I double cleanse with a cleansing oil at night. Slap on a bit of moisturiser. Nothing special. Occasionally use a glycolic acid but didn’t on holiday.

I just want it super smooth again!

It’s your sweat glands surely?

This isn’t me, but it looks similar:

That looks like some sort of allergy. Were you using any different products? Could it have been the washing powder that the bed linen was washed in? I get itchy from a particular ingredient in some fabric conditioners, and if I sleep on a pillow washed with it then I'll wake up with itchy red rimmed eyes.

Chillichutney1 · 11/09/2019 00:42

Yes,I won’t link here but look up images of Pityrosporum folliculitis forehead and forehead bumps nizoral and see if it looks familiar. Fungal acne spots are often flesh coloured small bumps that don’t come to a head, and they’re pretty stubborn

Try nizoral or any other anti fungal shampoo

JuniperBeer · 15/09/2019 15:03

@FairyJuice definitely not an allergy- the pic isn’t me, it was just to show roughly what I meant. I’ve had them since my teens. Otherwise v clear skin, only get the odd spot round my chin once a month or so.
Just little skin coloured bumps that have gone really smooth on holiday but back to normal when I’m home.

@Chillichutney1
It’s not that, they don’t look like any of the photos. A friend said it might just be ‘congested’ what ever that means. Maybe I’ll up the acid exfoliation!

Do you live in a particularly hard water area? My hair and skin always look so much better abroad and I'm sure it's to do with the softer water.

MoltonSilver · 15/09/2019 19:22

keratosis pilaris?
It tends to improve in the sun.

yellowallpaper · 15/09/2019 19:40

I agree likely keratosis Pilaris. (Can't spell it). Irritating skin coloured bumps on various parts of the body. Exfoliation helps.

neonglow · 15/09/2019 20:01

I get bumps like that, google always seems to bring up subclinical acne? La Roche posay (not sure spelling) face cream works very well at clearing them

JuniperBeer · 15/09/2019 22:44

Oooh I think that’s what it is!!!

Yes, live in v hard water area, that could explain it!!!!
