Hard skin on toes

headlock · 08/09/2019 23:05

I used to have nice feet but now in my late forties and have hard skin on the ends of my toes.
I always wear comfy shoes that fit well.
Any tips for easy removal? I've tried the foot peel bags that you leave your feet in for an hour but I find them a faff and the results don't last that long.
I hate it and end up picking my feet which I know is gross!

Avon do feet products 'Foot Works' and its really good stuff. Also have you tried Happy Feet? Its in a blue round tub, thats good stuff I use it in the summer as I get really dry feet from wearing sandals.

Callous remover - a bit like a potato peeler

Thanks, have found healthy feet in a round blue tub, is that it? @moonpiggle
Will get the fallout remover too.

Footner exfoliating socks. They're amazing!
All the dead/hard skin peels off your feet and toes and you're left with baby soft feet. It's also ridiculously satisfying when the peeling starts.

@headlock Yes sorry Healthy Feet! Happy feet 😂 thought it didnt sound right! But yes really good stuff.

IHaveBrilloHair · 10/09/2019 15:28

Footners, and then flexitol heel balm and a foot file used regularly.

halloumi2019 · 10/09/2019 15:56

Those exfoliating foot masks scare me, there was a thread on here about them causing a poster’s foot to continue to peel months after use!

You should buy a foot file and a designated foot cream (eg Flexitol heel balm). Might not be as fast acting as the scary socks but will make such a difference

Beebumble2 · 10/09/2019 18:05

My feet were like this when I wore shoes and tights all day long. I now go barefoot at home and regularly file any hard skin spots. Both have made a huge difference.

headlock · 10/09/2019 18:08

I bought one of the corn and callous removers today. Can't wait to try it. I have some creams and balms that I'll use up then get some more nice stuff. I'm not keen on the socks. Used them once and much as it worked my feet didn't peel as much as I thought they would. Will just have to make foot care a more regular thing.
Thanks for the replies

Really @Beebumble2? I would've thought barefoot would've made it worse. I don't wear tights often but socks every day other than in summer.
I always wear slippers at home because my feet feel the cold.

Do you moisturise your feet every day? That's the key to keeping them soft.

Sakura7 · 10/09/2019 18:15

I find exfoliating feet about 4-5 times a week and moisturising them with a thick body butter works. I use the Primark charcoal exfoliating gloves with soap, and for moisturising I currently have a tub of the Body Shop shea butter.

Sakura7 · 10/09/2019 18:15

Meant to say use the moisturiser every day.

chesterfuckingdraws · 10/09/2019 18:18

Margaret dabbs foot file and flexitol foot cream. Absolute game changer

Beebumble2 · 10/09/2019 18:19

headlock I think the air getting to the skin helped the condition. But I do agree with the exfoliating and moisturiser.

headlock · 10/09/2019 22:10

No I don't do it everyday but I'm going to have to. I hate that scratchy feeling putting my socks on!
I have a foot spa so might dig it out a bit more often.

The beauty routine just gets longer and longer with age 🙄
