Hair is so thin after having my son, advice?

After having my son 2.5 years ago my hair shed a lot and went from being lovely and thick to not as thick. Then when he was 1 I went through a period of stress and it’s shed ever since. The ends of my hair are now so thin it really gets me down but I don’t want to lose length.
I’m taking vitamins and using shampoo to prevent hair loss but I feel so deflated by it.
Has anyone had the same happen and have any tips?

I would kill for your hair. You do need to get about 4 or 5 inches off as the ends (and it is only the ends) look wispy obviously from pp hair loss. No amount of vitamins can make the ends of your hair thicker so cut it off. It will grow back.

Honestly your hair looks beautiful but if you aren't happy try hair mayonnaise from boots in the afro section and folic acid

Can you see your scalp through it? Have you noticed your part is getting wider? Is your skin extra dry? Are your eyebrows also thinning, especially from the outside edge? There is a possibility you may have post party’s thyroiditis. Easily checked with a blood test. Unfortunately the other symptoms like stress and excess tiredness are easily explained by having a newborn.

Post PARTUM thyroiditis. Post party is a hangover.

A blunt cut with 4-6 inches off and it will look amazing.

My hair is like yours OP. Massive shed after my baby was born and it slowly continued. I have low ferritin so I'm taking iron and hopefully in the long term this will help. I also had hair extensions put in for thickness, which overall looked great, but after a year I decided to have them removed and I went for the chop and had it cut to collarbone length. It looks healthy and I'm not bothering with hair extension maintenance. Perhaps ask your GP for a blood test to make sure there isn't an underlying cause.

You really do have to cut it (as well as investigate if anything else is going on). No point carrying around straggly hair. My hair is MUCH thinner than yours and so really quite short now but I still get compliments when it's cut well.
