Trinny London make-up, is it worth it?

I enjoy watching Trinny and always think her make up looks great. Does anyone have her make-up? Is it any good? Any must haves? I really like the idea of a stack, especially as I travel so much. Thanks!

I have it and love it. I’m at the stage of accentuating positives not wearing a mask. If you’re an Estée Lauder Double wear person I don’t think it’s for you.
It lasts and lasts and I’ve been impressed

Leftielefterson · 04/09/2019 09:53

That’s why I think I’d love it @RonaldMcDonald - I don’t wear foundation, just SPF and sometimes some tinted moisturiser. Do you find you use whole range?

I use Trinny's Miracle Blur and I find it's an amazing mattifier. I don't think that's what it's intended for but it works better than any mattifier I've ever used.

Apologies in advance for the huge post that follows!

I have a lot of the products.
It encouraged me to go much less heavy with my make up.

Products -

BFF -does nothing for me. I don't get the hype I see on the TL Tribe page on Facebook.

BFF Eye - love love love! I have pretty bad dark circles and this product makes them look tons better. It's not a heavy coverage at all so it doesn't conceal them as such, but they look so much better. Also the product is invisible, no creasing, heavy make up look or making lines look worse.

Just a Touch - concealer/foundation. Very good colour match to my fair skin. Looks so natural when first applied as I just use it where needed rather than all over. But it just doesn't last on me, after 2 hours it's gone. I don't want to give up on this product so have been trying such things as UD All nighter spray etc.

Cheekbones Kate - amazing product but blend well!

Eye colours. These do last on me, much to my surprise. Nearly all are shimmery though which may not suit everyone.

Lip2Cheek - fabulous concept (although not original) but I can't wear these on my lips at all as they're far too drying. The colours last quite well on my cheeks.

Fresh Flush Lip2Cheek - a gloss that has glitter in it. Again super shade but I dislike the lack of longevity and the glitter.

Lip glow. Gorgeous colours but just a basic lip gloss that again, does not last long on me at all. I have cheaper glosses that stay on a bit longer.

Summary. I'm in my late 50s yet I can get a lovely, fresh face look from these products. However within two to three hours nearly all of the products have worn off my face, with the exception of the BFF Eye and the eye shadows.

I have a ‘stack’ and would t recommend at all.

In fact. It is expensive and poor quality. I wear BB cream from Soace NK and am not a heavy make up user.

The lip products are ultra drying so unless dry cracked stained lips are your thing, avoid at all costs.

The Match2Me is inaccurate. Way too dark for me and of course once opened, they can’t be returned so a costly ‘mistake’ even though all details were entered correctly.

You would be far better off going into a department store and getting testers and buying different products.

I think they are like the Avon of beauty products.

Where the pricing point comes from is truly baffling. They are not ‘premium’ products. Trinity talks the talk and is a terrific salesperson. The products are a waste of money though I fully expect them to start getting rave reviews on beauty sites soon as she knows the right people.

Follow someone like Sal Hughes instead!

I have a few products. The BFF and JAT work for me and last well. I like the blush too (not the lip to cheek) and the eye colours but agree most are a bit sparkly.

The stack concept is good but not that new (I recall make up that stacked from rubble and Millie years ago). The packaging is also poor quality. Tops come apart. All mine are superglued back to allow me to stack when taking out the house.

I do think it’s a little pricey but have carried on buying BFF (it evens my skin out a little and gives a nice glow) and the JAT lasted a year. I’ve just repurchased.

I found the online match to me perfect and I was even able to work our shade darker doe summer and requested a sample which has been enough for two summers for me.

I'm early 40's and I use Trinny's range and have done for a few months. I use it mostly because its easy and quick to apply, and I can take a small stack out with me if required. The lids do come apart though.
My verdict on the products I have:

BFF - I use this more as a moisturiser with SPF. It gives a good glow (though can be too greasy sometimes). I don't see much colour benefit.

BFF Eye - This does nothing for me at all. I may have the wrong shade but on me it looks like I'm wearing makeup underneath my eyes but you still see the shadows.

Just a Touch - I have a couple of testers and all 3 shades sort of work for me. It's a bit too drying to use on large areas for me.

Eye colours - My favourite product, very easy to put on. They are shimmery but I like this. It's too many variations on shades of brown though and I don't suit dark eyeshadow, so I can't buy that many.

Lip2Cheek - Very dry texture. I don't wear on my lips but putting this on my cheeks feels horrible . Quite pigmented so you only need a little I find.

Fresh Flush Lip2Cheek - I love these but hate the glitter they leave on my face. The colour wears off and I'm just left with glittery cheeks. This feels ridiculous to me at 42, but others love it.

I have only tried the lip and blush products. They promise much but deliver little. Overpriced. I gave mine away.

ZaraW · 06/09/2019 05:51

Love Wisdom eyeshadow. The lip/cheek product was awful dry and not easy to apply. The Match2Me didn't work. Far too bright for me.

Leftielefterson · 06/09/2019 11:40

Thanks for the input. I’m thinking of maybe getting the bff and the some of the eye2eyes as my colouring suits browns. Disappointing to hear it’s not as fabulous as I was hoping.

If you can get to one of the fenwicks where it is stocked in store the. I’d suggest that so you can try some out and see how it lasts.

user1495832265 · 09/09/2019 13:40

It's been interesting to read the other posts.

I was lucky, the Match2Me worked perfectly, all of the colours I ordered suit me it's just the formulations that are troublesome.
Agree, the lids are notorious for breaking. Hasn't happened to me yet but the prospect of it happening on a work trip away, or a holiday, deters me from taking a stack when I travel.

I'm not sure I'd repurchase any of the products, except perhaps Kate for cheekbones.
I would definitely buy BFF Eye again, but only if it came in a tube after spilling half of mine all over the bathroom at weekend. It's too liquid to be in a pot. They could do the same as BFF, product in a tube, empty pot to decant into if customer wished to do so.

IcedPurple · 09/09/2019 16:13

The stack thing seems like a total gimmick to me. Other than lipstick - which can't be 'stacked' - and powder, how much makeup does your average woman cart around with her every day? And for travel, there are all sorts of travel containers available so you're not tied in to using the same brand. And personally, I'd be very reluctant to order makeup online without the chance of trying it myself first, especially at these prices.
