I bought it maybe eight years ago from Fat Face, never seen it in there since.

It is perfect. Cropped body style, chunky, washes incredibly well. Perfect for travel and just throwing over. Goes with so many things.

I don't normally do cardigans as I feel they are a cover up for fatter bodies (probably days more about me and my sqewed perceptions more than cardigans) but this is perfect.

I have tried searching and googling lots of the descriptors I've used above but to no effect. It needs to be this perfect hip length.

Celtic and Co. Length is 58 cm.

BillywilliamV · 02/09/2019 06:07

You’ll have to put it on, these photos don’t show anything really

Shoeshelpplease · 02/09/2019 07:37

Thanks the Celtic & Co looks similar, probably not as chunky though.

I love the olive colour, seeing lots about this season.

Sainsbury's have a few similar looking ones. Some chunky, some a bit thinner. Varying colours.

I was gonna help. But then you said the thing about cardigans being for fat bodies. This is one of the strangest things I've read in a while. Cardigans are for keeping warm.

Shoeshelpplease · 02/09/2019 08:08

Which is why I accept it is my strange way of looking at things. I have always turned to cardigans when I have put weight on, as a way of covering up it necessarily keeping warm.

Probably just me though. I feel the same about the waterfall hemline.

Waterfall cardigans are the biggest no go to me, just remind me of being miserable.

^ This.

When I was fat I used to wear cardigans all the time even when it was scorching hot outside. It hid my arms and body fat which made me feel more comfortable. So I can see why OP made that comment. I relate to that.

RushianDisney · 02/09/2019 12:02

You just have to measure your cardigan and look for people selling on eBay/etsy with similar measurements. I spent months searching for the perfect pair of wide leg dungarees and eventually found a pair with the exact same leg measurements as my favourite culottes - they arrived today and as expected they are perfect.

You really didn't need to add in the bit about cardigans being for fat people though, even if it is your personal hang up all it achieves is getting people's backs up. I love a cardigan, I wear them year round and I've always been slim. They are for warmth!

Soola · 02/09/2019 12:28

I had a cardigan like that circa 1984 maybe earlier. I think it was from Harrods. You could look for vintage ones on eBay or knit your own.

Shoeshelpplease · 02/09/2019 12:30

@Hannahmates you get it, they are great for covering up. And better than jumpers because they don't actually even need to fit. That's where I'm coming from.

My personal experience is as valid as anyone else's, I am sorry if it's offended anyone though. Although I don't get why. I have used cardigans to cover up areas of my body I haven't been happy with, they are great for that. Now I'm looking for style. I don't like cardigans that remind me of when I was larger, only because I was v unhappy then and associate cardigans with trying to find a way to look more acceptable (to me).

Thousands on ebay but I don’t know your size

MontanaSkies · 02/09/2019 12:44

Set up an eBay search for "fat face cropped chunky cardigan" + your size, and one will come up sooner or later. Maybe even the same design in the same or different colours.

I saw one in Matalan the other day...it's nice.

I think there's a difference between having an opinion OP, which is fine, and then freely chucking it about when it's offensive. Plainly obviously, lots of other people wear cardigans, saying they are for 'fat' people to cover up the fact is clearly rude, perhaps it is you that 'doesn't get it', skewed perceptions are your own issue; no need to make others feel bad.

That aside, i'm sure you could easily find a cardigan however, that sort of thing does come up every winter, they're on trend and I agree a cropped chunky knit is a useful thing to have. I'd just type 'cropped chunky knit/cable knit cardigan' or similar into google and look through the suggestions. Mango and ASOS are worth a look, as are Fat face themselves, who often repeat the same stuff season after season.

BarrenFieldofFucks · 09/09/2019 13:40

You're entitled to your opinion of course, but you don't need to share it with others in this context. You can Hart be surprised you get others riled.
