Is there a shampoo that will add a little brown dye every time I wash my hair?? I have a few Grey's that I wish to cover but don't want to dye it!!

You could try a colour depositing shampoo

I've never found they worked. You can get them (in Superdrug I think) but they don't tend to cover grey.

Have you tried to root cover dye? Not helpfully I can't remember who it's by? Clairol maybe? You literally just dye the greys

Would you try a semi permanent? I use L’Oréal casting creme gloss. I have dark brown hair and use the medium brown shade. The difference between this and a permanent is that you don’t get obvious roots coming through and it covers grey well.

@dementedpixie. Can you give me the name please?

I just googled them so haven't used them

I have used the Superdrug ones in the past and found them effective until I got more grey...they do cover them but they aren't then the same colour as the rest of your hair - I guess there isn't as much actual dye in them as actual box dyes

I've not tried it but people have recommended Aveda shampoos. They do one for black hair called Black Malva and one for brown which is Clove I think. I've tried John Frieda brilliant brunette in past and that's been good has a lot of pigment or did when I tried it years ago. I've just tried Umberto Gianni or Gianini or whatever it's called Flowerology for brunette hair and it's supposed to blend in grey didn't work at all for me but not sure if you're supposed to leave it on for few minutes.

I love this OP. You can use it neat on the roots or add it to conditioner for a more subtle colour.

Boots used to sell it but have recently discontinued it but it's still available direct from the Scott Cornwall website.
