Not happy with filler?

Not going to post pics. I have spent £600 on jaw filler (4ml). I am not happy with my results, hate the filler placement. Should I ask the company to rectify this without further cost?

I naturally have a heart shaped faced, my jaw looked like it was shaped like a V at the front, but I had a slightly weak side profile. I wanted my chin/profile to be a more defined. The first session was fine, but the 2nd session has made me look worse.

Basically the filler has instead made my chin look smaller/more weak and my jaw more wide/boxy/masculine. It’s not what I wanted.

I want to complain and get this corrected, but will I just have to pay the further £200 (1ml) cost? Would the practitioner be obligated to correct or remove the filler without a charge?

Is it definitely something where you could say "this is what I discussed with you and wanted" and "this is what I ended up with"? Did you take photos or any thing like that? Did you say anything at the time?

healththrowawayx · 01/09/2019 13:51

I didn’t say anything no - I just kept asking them to make adjustments. I could tell that they knew I wasn’t happy with the results though because there was a lot of tweaking. There’s lots of photographs (including ones they took) which illustrates my issue though.

In that case I'm not sure. If they kept tweaking for you and then ultimately you left they might feel that is the end of that and charge you for more adjustments. It's worth asking though and going back with the photos and saying you had hoped it would settle but are still not happy. Does this kind of thing need time to settle?

My mum has her own business very established and very qualified doing this. She would be really uneasy if you weren’t happy and want you to go back to discuss what to do next. She wouldn’t charge to dissolve it!!! Xx

healththrowawayx · 01/09/2019 15:09

The thing is, they had already done the right side of my face before they let me look at it. Therefore they had already placed filler in the areas that I didn’t want it, so the ‘tweaks’ were just trying to cover it up rather than getting it exactly how I wanted it.

You wouldn't be charged for the injections to break down the filler if they can see you're not happy with it and why.

Workinghardeveryday · 01/09/2019 20:03

At the end of the day you have not got what you paid for!! Some people are not realistic at what can be achieved with fillers etc, but if you explained and she understood but it is not what you asked for.... ring them and tell them your really upset, don’t feel confident etc etc they should see you ASAP to sort it out. My mum works all hours, doesn’t need to but does do to keep people happy. She will always fit someone in if they were feeling like you are. Makes her unhappy if you are !!! Ring them first thing xx

@Workinghardeveryday Thanks, your mum sounds lovely! Unfortunately I don’t think the salon I visited is as professional as your mum.

I’m going to let it settle for a few weeks and if it doesn’t start to look better (I would be happy even if it just naturally metabolised tbh) then I’ll ask them to dissolve it.

lol she is so lovely!! Remember it will also be swollen. Slight swelling in that area will change the whole look! Leave for a while like you say, you never know in a few days you might totally love it!! Xxx

areyoutheredenise · 01/09/2019 23:10

How long ago did you have it done? And when you say salon.....was it done by a nurse ?

KimKardash · 01/09/2019 23:10

Hopefully it's just swollen and will go down but it sounds like you just wanted chin filler (to fix a weak side profile) rather than jaw filler to give you a stronger jaw. FWIW I really dislike the jaw filler trend, it hardly suits any women! If you still don't like it in a few days go back and they should dissolve the areas you don't want the filler for free x

healththrowawayx · 01/09/2019 23:18

Yeah it was a nurse - not sure if that’s a good or bad thing though.

It’s annoying as I had chin filler mainly in the first session, but in the second session the filler placement has basically covered up the initial chin filler. It’s hard to show in photos. Basically instead of having a pointy chin (that I walked in with) it’s more short and and rounded.

Just don’t feel like I look like myself, it’s weird.

For filler to be dissolved it's generally because of an allergic reaction or a complication at the time of treatment. Not many injectors would dissolve a filler a while after treatment and it could makes things worse. Definitely go back and point out what you aren't happy with but I wouldn't recommend dissolving it or any further treatment to be honest.

healththrowawayx · 02/09/2019 09:13

Lol sorry but if it can’t be corrected or removed I would take further action, I am not happy with walking around looking ridiculous whilst paying full price for the pleasure

Did you contact them?

Nomoremilk · 04/09/2019 01:38

I'm an Aesthetic nurse and usually in the consent form you will have signed to say that basically you acknowledge that filler reacts differently for everyone, may be asymmetrical etc. Usually the consent forms are pretty water tight. It sounds like she made lots of adjustments and from my experience you will most likely be offered to have it dissolved for free but she is not likely to offer you an extra ml for free. It's not like you've had a bad reaction because of poor practice, so I'm not sure you could take it further really. Our insurance companies check the consent forms and deal with it for us and they rarely advise adding more product.

halloumi2019 · 04/09/2019 19:24

Aren’t fillers covered by consumer law though? Doesn’t matter what you state in your consent form as you can’t override statutory rights. If someone doesn’t get the results they asked for, clients have the same rights as they do any other purchases. Ie small claims, chargeback etc
