Developed allergy to gel nails - any alternatives? SNS / dip powder nails?

I’ve deceloped an allergy to gel nails over the past 6 months, I get redness and little bumps around my nails, and the skin peels

My actual nails are in good condition, strong and grow just fine, so normal nail polish is ok. However it’s such an arse that it barely lasts a few days before chipping.

So either, has anyone got the holy grail of nail polish that doesn’t chip?

Or do hypoallergenic gel nails exist? Or SNS dip nails, anyone tried those?

You could try the Gel Bottle gel nails. They are advertised as free of a lot of the common but potentially harmful ingredients in regular gel. Would depend on exactly what you’re allergic to though!
I’ve tried SNS but it really damaged my nails. It’s very tough so doesn’t chip at all, lasts longer than gels but that does mean it’s a longer (and for me more damaging) process to get it off.

Gel bottles actually been having issues with allergies recently.

If it’s the acrylic your allergic to you won’t be able to have any coating, you might get away with nail varnish left on for as short a time as possible.

You should also make dentists aware, dental cement is also acrylic.

Thanks both. Nail varnish seems completely fine, it’s just the actual gel nails

I wish you could go somewhere and try them all out instead of having to pay for the whole thing then risking it not being appropriate

SNS is basically super glue, so that's not going to be good for you.
You need to go cold turkey on the chemicals if you are developing an allergy sadly.

Maybe try the stick on false nails?
