I look good for my age but they seem to have an edge. They don’t get much time to do treatments on each other but always have great skin 🤔

I use Ellebanna. Professional eye makeup remover & a lash shampoo fir my eyelashes as oil free.
Tatcha cleansing Oil
Thalgo cleansing milk
Avene thermal water spray
Drunk Elephant Hydra B Serum
Thalgo Collagen cream
Thalgo Collagen eye cream

I massage my cleansing oil then remove with hot cloth, I massage cleanser & remove with hot cloth as that is gentle exfoliation asI have very sensitive skin.
I put my wet flannel in the microwave & heat on high for 30 secs.

I think PP seas correct that if BT’s skin looked haggard, they’d have no business.
Meanwhile, some people truly have genes on their side and some people work hard at it.
I am complemented frequently on my “youthful” appearance. I live in Australia and have taken the sun safety advice very seriously since I was a kid as we have a genetic predisposition for Melanoma. (Many family members have died from it.) Ergo, I wear lots of sunscreen every day and dodge the sun because I think that bastard wants to kill me. I also don’t enjoy the feeling of sun on my skin, etc.... I look significantly younger than people I went to school with who fried themselves. Because I wear lots of sunscreen, I cleanse my skin well every night, etc. I use vitamin C products to help with the efficacy of the sunscreens and so far I don’t look too crusty at 47. (Also no smoking, etc...)

There's such a thing as lash shampoo?
I am 50 and am lucky to have good skin. I have never cleansed/exfoliated etc. I use water to wash and moisturise every night and morning. I rarely wear make up (unless going out out). I drink gallons of water though as I don't like hot drinks.

I live in Australia so we have to be careful wasting water that running it to just get the tap hot. We have to pay for our water usage & it’s very expensive.

Lash shampoo is to clean eyelash extensions

Cookit · 25/08/2019 12:34

All the ones I see are way too made up for my taste. I dislike the fake tan, thick make up, fake eyelashes look.

Looking after your skin and using products that suit and dropping any that react instantly plus a sensible diet, lots of fluids and plenty of exercise should do a lot of the heavy lifting for you. If you enjoy the cosmetic side and come from a family with good skin genes, then you can have decent skin into your 60s. But stress, overwork, too much sun exposure or poverty can do a lot of damage to skin. It all takes time, and if your main problem is keeping a roof over your head and food on the table, then time is likely to be one of the first casualties.

I have heard it all now!

They're all duck-lipped around here.

MyForbiddenLover · 25/08/2019 23:09

A friend of mine is a beauty therapist and always looks amazing. She gets up at 4.45am during the week to do beauty treatments and full make up each day before dropping her DC at school and going to work. She says that her make up takes around an hour to do!

justilou1 · 26/08/2019 00:51

Life’s too short for that, if you ask me!!! (But my career does not rely on me looking fab. Just healthy. The difference is minute, but it’s there. I can at least age.)

Cookit · 26/08/2019 06:36

She says that her make up takes around an hour to do! Shock Shock Shock

I actually can’t think of anything worse.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/08/2019 06:37

Eyelash extensions are false so will hold onto bacteria more than natural eyelashes, you’d need a shampoo to clean them but not break the glue up.

Normal eye cleanser contains oil which will melt the glue which holds the lash extensions on to the eyes. You need to use a special cleanser which doesn’t interfere with the glue. I use Lash Perfect (am in the U.K.)
