Teeth whitening

I have nice teeth but they need to be whitened. Has anyone bought the trays from your dentist and used the gel at home option? I’ve got sensitive teeth and prefer the gradual option to the laser in the chair treatment. The price seems to be £300-400 near me.

Any advice please?

I have the trays, use them once a year. Works really well. You pay once then just order the gels and you do it yourself.

I tried the ones from the dentist.

It was awful as I had really sharp stabbing pains and I don't usually have sensative teeth. I didn't continue with the treatment due to this as I figurered the pain wasn't worth it.

Try Hi-Smile.

Not a massive change, but my teeth are definitely a shade or two whiter.

It’s designed not to cause sensitivity, and it doesn’t. I have horrendously sensitive teeth - I gave up on the trays after one treatment- but this was fine.

I used pola day/night gel trays at home. Fantastic results, no sensitivity. That was 5years ago and they could do with a top up.

If you have sensitive teeth from bleaching, put some sensodyne toothpaste in your bleaching trays and sleep with them in. It will really settle down the sensitivity.

I'm a dentist and that's what I recommended to my patients and what I do when I bleach mine.
