Hair styling advice please

I have a slightly layered bob that I have great difficulty styling. My hair is wavy and frizzy (tried curly girl, looked awful) and is thick. I blow dry it as best I can and then have to use straighteners to give it shine and smoothness. However I don't want it straight, I would like it to be wavy but also shiny and smooth like HW's in the attached pics.

What straightener technique will give me waves like this? I've tried beachy waves tutorials but it doesn't turn out right and the ends always look frizzy (I don't take the curl to the end).

I'm also worried about the damage I'm doing to my highlighted hair, it's looking quite processed. Is there a way of drying my hair smooth but wavy without straighteners? Not Babyliss big hair please, I've tried both sizes and I end up looking like a mushroom. I'm really not good with dexterity and blow drying so I would love a tool that dries hair like this, is there such a thing?

I have similar hair to you. I have finally worked out how to style my hair so it is not too dissimilar to the pics. I use ghd straighteners to straighten underneath fairly smoothly and for the top head bit i curl it round downwards when it is all done I get a bit of wax/oil and run my fingers through it. I never brush my hair. Only run fingers through it. That and the bit of wax on the ends of hair seems to do the trick. My hair looks better now than ever as I used to just straighten it straight and it looked flat and triangle like before. This is softer and looks more relaxed/dishevelled. It lasts all week till I wash again. Good luck.
