Barefoot shoes for winter

I have always preferred being barefoot and have (unknowingly) worn zero rise trainers for years. At Easter I took the plunge and tried a pair of barefoot trail shoes. They are fantastic and I'm a complete convert, BUT they are the least waterproof shoes I have ever owned except for sandals. I've realised that autumn and winter are around the corner and my trainers just aren't going to cut it for snowy/wet school runs etc. I need a decent waterproof pair that will keep my feet warm. Does anyone have any recommendations? There are loads of reviews of the best trainers, but few for boots. Those I've found are either for hiking boots or men's wear. I like the look of the Vibram Furoshiki boots. Has anyone tried these?

You might already know this but Happy Little Soles now sell adult barefoot shoes. I've only worn Vivobarefoot shoes and know they are hard wearing and HLS are selling boots by them in a couple of styles.

I’ve had Vivobarefoot winter boots and they were fantastic

Are Vivobarefoot really worth their price tag? I keep coming back to them but they are quite expensive in comparison to other brands. My trainers are Merrell and were about £60 (standard trainer price IMO), and the Vibram boots are currently on sale for £90 but list price is £125. The Vivo boots are £160 - 190, which is quite a leap! Is the quality really that high?

I always find that waterproof boots/ shoes don't last beyond a few months of continuous wear.

I'm now trialling a new system of normal trainers + waterproof socks.

Well the soles fell off both sides of my Vivo boots eventually, but they were comfortable before that! They lasted a good few years before disintegration though
