To use on my dd12, she is brunette and would like to dye the tip of her hair in pink/purple ! She is really dark and nothing seems to work on her ! And i’m Clueless !! Thank you !

You would normally need to lighten the hair before putting the colours on

Gargamel1975 · 11/08/2019 11:07

Thank you ! And how do you do that ??

Maybe try hair chalk

BobTheFishermansWife · 11/08/2019 11:09

Is she a dark brunette or a dirty blonde? If the latter try directions by La Riche, as the colours take really well. If the former as pp said you may need to lighten.

You'd usually use bleach to lighten so may not be advisable on her hair.
Also, if you are in the UK its back to school soon and many schools may have rules over hair colour being on the natural spectrum. Of course, she could trim the colour out if necessary but be careful that it doesn't leave her with a hair length she doesn't want.

She is a dark brunette ! I have booked her for a hair cut just before she is going back to school so it won’t be an issue.

Schwarzkopf Lightner + Twist! They have lovely pastel pinks and lilac.

You can get it from boots and it will lighten the hair to some degree as well and turn it pink. Does need to be fairly light before though but it's better than a straight up colour dye which pink probably wouldn't take to at all.

When you say nothing seems to work, what have you tried ?

And though I'd usually say there's a reason hair dyes have an age restriction on them (for a good reason) and hairdressers won't use dye on under 16 ...if its just the ends (and you are doing the dye work) then it won't be touching her scalp.

Have you looked at Bleach London (Superdrug sell it)

Organic Colour Systems No Limits Semi Permanent Colour in Hot Pink gave my dark brown hair a pink tinge.

It’s not cheap but you go get more than one application out of it.

It also has no PPD is is less harsh/likely to be allergenic.
