Share your routine

I'm trying to take more care of myself. Would you mind sharing your regime with me to give me some ideas. Do you moisturise everywhere after showering for instance? How often would you fake tan? Get nails done regularly or even just file them?
I currently shower daily where I generally shave my legs. Slap a bit of moisturiser on my face and that's it. If I remember I'll file my nails, pluck eyebrows etc but not as part of a routine. Can you give me some detail. Thanks!

It depends on your age, if you are early 20s you can get away with a lot but if you start a routine earlier in life then it becomes second nature.
I am not the best example as I am a bit extreme but on the whole I’d advice a daily, weekly and monthly routine an try and keep to it as best as you can within your life constraints. I personally don’t do a lot of the fake stuff so don’t know how often you need to do some of them.
This would be a basic routine to me but you can certainly expand on it.

Daily: dry body brush before shower, then after shower apply specific body cream where needed (either gradual tan all over or exfoliation lotion all over or by problem area and massage as best as possible for stretch marks, firming, cellulite, elbows, feet then a light oil or light lotion everywhere else). Cleanse face morning and evening and apply serum, face oil or retinol and massage face. Use hand cream at least once a day.
Every other day: wash hair, check nails are ok, if not file or take nail polish off, reapply if you feel like it.
Weekly: face mask, hair mask, body scrub, check if eyebrows need attention, manicure and pedicure - all DIY
Monthly: dye hair, deal with waxing if needed ( unless shaving which would of course be more frequent)

Meant to say if early 20s you can get away ‘without’ doing a lot.

And haircuts, depending on hairstyle and condition of hair could be every two months or once a year.

One thing I would say, if you do nothing else, always look after your teeth, so checkup and hygienist every 6 months.

Thank you. I'm in my 40's so can't get away with it any more. I know that my skin is dehydrated but I have problems with sensitivity so struggle to find suitable products.

Ah then you need to be careful with what you choose.
Cetaphil might be a good option for face and body. It is aimed at sensitive skin.
CeraVe is also good. I think they are quite similar but CeraVe appears to be better for based on the fact that it contains ceramides.
Fake tan might not work that well on dry skin so regular exfoliation would help. Ameliorate (Nip Fab do a cheaper Body Fix cream which quite similar) body cream is a good option but I wouldn’t use it every day or a generic body scrub with added moisturising elements like oils would smooth and nourish. I mix a light oil with sugar for a diy body scrub in the shower (found some nice ones on Amazon and the base is grape seed oil and they smell nice): wash, pour sugar in one hand, a few pumps of oil, smear it with circular motion and repeat all over body then rinse. No idea what it does to the shower pipes so I use as little as possible.

For dehydrated skin on the face try hyaluronic acid. I find some are somehow too oily (no idea how) but HadaLabo is a well regarded brand (I haven’t tried yet). It works similar to glycerine but it is finer and it draws water from the environment to keep skin hydrated. It wouldn’t be as effective in a dry climate.

Best you keep it simple so you don’t mess with your skin.

I am late 30's. The one thing I maintain is nails. I gave acrylic and gel, they are very well done and don't look fake / not like talons.

Have haircut every 7/8 weeks. Always book next cut in while I'm in the salon.

I have just recently started moisturising after every shower, it really doesn't take more than 1 minute - wonder now why I didn't use to find time for it.

I only wear make up when I go to work or out for dinner etc, not during the day at weekend.

Take off make up with face wipe and use any old moisturiser that makes my skin feel nice. Superdrug own brand cucumber is nice.

I work full time and have a toddler so don't really have time for much else as I'm knackered by the end of the day and the morning is a rush

Nails every 3 weeks - costs £20-25

Mid 30s

Daily hot shower after gym . Exfoliate with glove and then moisturise with palmers.
Face- quick swipe with glow tonic and moisturise with rose hip oil . Mascara and tame brows .

Weekly - thread brows . Do own nails by soaking , fuming, buffing and Dior glow .

Monthly - wax own legs/ bikini/ pits

Hair - cut when needed and use Argan oil to tame as it's wavy

Mid 30s here

Mine is an odd mix of low and high maintenance (based on priority areas).

So: Harley St dermatologist --> prescription retinoid, azelaic acid, regular check ups, facials, vitamin C serums, eye creams etc.

Body: moisturiser after every shower, hand and foot cream every evening, regular filing and buffing of finger and toe nails (at least a couple of times a week). Neck cream twice daily. Exfoliate once a week, chiropodist sponge once a week. A few pilates classes every week. Shave legs/armpits whenever needed.

But then also:

Hair: cut twice a year but expensive shampoo, oils, hair masks etc. No waxing, pedicures, manicures, massages etc.

All this means that I look natural but the condition of my skin/hair/nails/hands/feet/body is always very, very good.

And no fake tan, ever. Am super pale but that is ok :)

Forgot monthly brow threading. And also no hair dye!
