Does Bio-Oil really work on scars?

I had major surgery a few weeks ago, the scars are heeled now but they are huge across my lower stomach and both breasts.

Would Bio-oil help or is it a waste of money?

my dermatologist told me to use vit e on dc's facial scar.
a big bottle of food supplement vit e capsules - break them open and rub in the oil.
and absolutely no uv light on the scars for at least a year.

Yes! Sort of like cinnamon biscuits! I kept my bottle just so I could sniff it, even though it didn't do what I wanted it to.

Bio-oil doesn't help with scars.
There’s a product called IS Clinical Recovery Balm, around £40, I used it when I had a burn on my hand from the oven and thought I’d be left with a scar but it healed perfectly. I also used it on DH when he fell on a walk and cut himself really badly on rocks ended up in A&E and he had no marks left after using this. I think it can only be applied to dry skin so not an open wound and you really have to put it on lots of times every day and when the scar is new.
Pure Vit E oil is also very good for scars, best one I know of is made by HealthAid, it is a very, very thick oil, you only need a tiny bit at a time but use it often, it comes in a small rectangular bottle. I think around £12 or so.
