What to look for in a hairdryer

I tend to buy cheapish hairdryers, and then get annoyed when they don't last long. So this time I'm considering getting a more expensive one. Any recommendations? Either specific brands/models, or features to look for. It would get used most days, both on my hair (mid-length and fairly straight) and DDs, which is long and wavy. Mind you, do more expensive ones last longer?

Thanks!

Yes they do last longer, get a Parlux,my last one lasted about 7 and I'm 2 yeatsy into my current one. Hey the compact one( it's not compact ,it's a full size one and the one hairdressers tend to use in salons)

I bought a Dyson and have been using it for several months and it’s worth spending that bit more on it. I have long hair and without changing hair products my hair feels more silky and the drying time is greatly reduced.

Not keen on Parlux, have bought them but passed on to family members.

Love my Parlux. Light and powerful.

A friend has mentioned Parlux too.

Although I'd like to invest more money in one, I think Dyson might be sadly out of budget at the moment. They do look amazing though.

I was disappointed with the Dyson,I used one for a week and went back to my Parlux.

Babylon’s EQ. I love mine, had it for a couple of years. I bought it as the cool shot button stays on so you don’t have to hold it down and I often blow dry on cool to lessen damage. I usually go for babyliss as I’ve had a lot of good experiences with hair tools from them.

They are usually £120, but I saw them on Amazon the other day for £50. I love mine so much I bought a second one to use for travel.

I also second babyliss and recommend at least 2200w for good decent power. As mentioned above, babyliss has the cool shot button which is so nice for cooling you down after and adds shine to your hair also. I've got one that's I've had for must be getting on for 10 years!!
