Having Profhilo tomorrow. Almost 40, tried Botox (like it) and not yet ready for filler. I look exhausted and have very dehydrated skin. I’m a little bit worried about how long the bumps after the injections might hang about - anyone able to share their experience and advice? Thanks

Mine lasted a lot longer than they said. Took a good 5-6 days before they'd completely gone. Btw, it's really bloody painful too, just to warn you. Oh yeah and it did absolutely NOTHING for me either.

mrscampbellblackagain · 05/08/2019 18:32

It stings a little bit and my lumps lasted about a day but to be honest weren't that noticeable. It has made a big difference to my skin - a lot of people have asked what skincare I am using since having the second appointment Wink

Jaffacakebeast · 05/08/2019 18:39

.

NotquitewhatImeant · 05/08/2019 19:20

Interesting that’s two completely different responses. I really hope I’m in the quickly gone lumps category! My skin is permanently parched and not too wrinkly but quite slack so I’m hoping it will do something other than give me bruises and an empty wallet...

Defo didn't sting a bit for me! Some of the injections were worse than others though! Come back and report once you've had it done! Hopefully you'll get a good result.

NotquitewhatImeant · 05/08/2019 19:52

I will! It should be interesting if nothing else Wink

I would ask for numbing cream first as it's quite uncomfortable.

The bumps took a few days to go down for me for sure. But then they were gone. It's a subtle difference once it settles. I hope it goes well for you.

RuggyPeg · 05/08/2019 21:38

Yes, agree, slap the numbing cream on an hour before. You can buy it otc at the chemist. Pp must be hard as nails to just find it a bit stingy!! Here's a top tip for you tho.....brace yourself......take a vibrator with you........and use it on your neck. Yes, you read that right!!!! It re-directs your brain so that you don't feel the injections as much 😆😆😆😆

NotquitewhatImeant · 06/08/2019 11:36

Soooo just had it done. I wouldn’t actually say the pain was too bad. Pinched a bit and uncomfortable but nothing too bad - I do have to inject myself regularly for a medical condition though so maybe that has an unexpected benefit of making me find face ones ok. The bumps look like I’ve been attacked by some angry mosquitos or have odd symmetrical cystic spots. I’ll report back later on how they are settling.

BlackSwan · 06/08/2019 19:55

How are you this evening? How are the bumps? Glad it wasn’t painful for you, you must be as tough as nails!

NotquitewhatImeant · 06/08/2019 20:02

Hmmm my cheeks have two large welts on them like I’ve had a funny puffy reaction to something. Interestingly my husband hasn’t noticed but my friend did. The chin and jaw ones have gone entirely. I’ll see what happens in the morning. I felt a bit self conscious on the train home - I wouldn’t have gone back to the office looking like that!

RuggyPeg · 06/08/2019 20:35

Yep, you're in the 'ard as nails camp!!

mrscampbellblackagain · 08/08/2019 20:06

I quite liked the bumps on my cheekbones - made them look way more defined for a day at least Wink

My Dr laughs as I don't flinch at any injections to my face.

redredvino · 08/08/2019 21:29

Just had my first treatment today!! Hurt like fuck on cheek and chin. The rest were a breeze. Had it done at 10am, apart from cheeks lumps pretty much gone. Hoping for miracles!!

Nurse also offering sunekos, anyone heard of that??

RuggyPeg · 08/08/2019 22:47

Yep, I've recently heard of Sunekos. It's apparently similar to profhilo but better. More injections, different product, hurts less, 4 sessions, 1 a week I think.

NotquitewhatImeant · 09/08/2019 12:59

I’ve still got two lumps on cheekbones, I look like I’ve had some work done there. However, my skin looks better already. Hard to describe but it’s plumper and bouncier. Hopefully that will continue and make the love island cheekbones worth it

OP posts:
NotquitewhatImeant · 21/08/2019 18:06

I thought I’d report back after two weeks have gone by. I don’t think the profhilo has done anything Confused. My skin looked better for maybe 4 days and now is as dehydrated as ever. Maybe when it wears off totally I’ll realise it was doing something but I don’t think I will bother with the second treatment. Pretty disappointed. Was hoping this was going to cure my dehydrated skin but it’s obviously not for everyone

Would it be ok to resurrect this thread and ask if you think Profhilo is worth it? It's £300 per session here.

Suggarlips · 25/06/2021 11:28

Hi, how long did it take for your cheek bone lumps to disappear please? 🙂

talksalot1 · 28/06/2021 07:49

Hi, I know you are resurrecting this thread from ages ago but having just had x2 Profhilo sessions I can say my first session all lumps went within 12 hours. 2nd session it took about 4 days for the cheekbone ones to go.

Nibs122 · 14/09/2021 16:28

Had Profhilo yesterday/24hrs ago...forget skin numbing cream... it's deeper where it hurts!
Two big (2cms) lumps by my eyes/cheeks...like bee stings but bigger! I'm praying they will disappear...it looks noticeable and unattractive😰 I am late '60's

Laburnam · 14/09/2021 20:50

Would this work on upper arms? Anyone had and recommend for ageing?

Delatron · 14/09/2021 21:39

My bumps went down after 24 hours.

It’s interesting in the original post the OP was disappointing to not see results after a week or so. It was made very clear at my appointment that it would take at least 8 weeks. After 2 sessions. 4 weeks apart. The initial results you see is the hyaluronic acid plumping the skin with moisture but this is temporary so disappears after a week or two. Then the boost in collagen etc is the longer term effect.

I’m a few months post both injections and can see improvements. It’s not as dramatic as Botox but it’s a different treatment. I’ll continue to have it every 6 months.

I think it can be used everywhere. So neck, knees, hands so I guess upper arms.

Not on forehead or round eyes so I have viscoderm there which is from the same company.

Molliedog · 25/11/2021 20:05

I had profhilo 5 days ago. Unfortunately the two bumps on my cheek bones are not going away. My therapist has assured me gone by Saturday! But it’s still bad. Feels like two areas of oedema. Puffy!! Any ideas anyone. Reluctant to get second dose now. Scared it won’t go away!!

Skindeep67 · 01/12/2021 22:59

I had profhilo almost 2 days ago and my cheekbone blebs are very prominent, I know have awful puffiness around one eye, this irritates me somewhat! 2 nasty red dots on my chin, right now I wish I hadn't done it, regretting it so much, my practitioner says it will go down, I so hope she's right? I will keep you updated, right now I look horrendous and 10 years older, I'm sure she injected too high near my Nasal base which bleed upwards into my eye muscle, I actually administer profhilo and this has never happened to my clients I might add, not been doing it long but had positive feedback so far... Shame its a disaster on me.
