Sports bras

Help!!! I’m a 36DD and I really need to get some decent sports bras. I absolutely hate the mono boob look where they just flatten your boobs. They need to be high impact too (low impact is no good for a DD cup). Also need to be able to get in and out of them without needing to be a contortionist. All recommendations gratefully received as I’ve failed to find anything suitable so far.

Try

  • the Panache underwired one
  • ShockAbsorber (from the high impact Active Support range, not the ultimate run bra which might be a bit moniboob for you)

(BTW - the high/low impact refers to the type of activity, not the size of boob - I use different bras for running and high impact classes, compared to yoga)

Thanks for the recommendations, will check them out.

I know low/high impact refers to the activity but low impact ones just feel as though I may as well have gone bra-less Blush! Definitely high impact needed just to do moderate to high impact.

I know the feeling!

The Panache is normal fastening btw, with optional clip to make it racer-back. The ShockAbsorber Active Support is normal fastening. They also have a zip-front version, but I've never tried that

I'm a 32FF and have both Shock Absorber and Panache sports bras. I personally prefer the SA ones, I feel more secure in them. And I also go for the high inpact running ones (even if I'm only wearing it for pilates).

However, I tend to buy a strap size larger, cause they do shrink in the wash and become uncomfortably tight after a while - sizing up the band (and possibly sizing down in the cup, depends on how it feels when you try them on) makes them usable for slightly longer for me.

PS Shock Absorber bras are quite pricey (for me) so I tend to wait for the sales in the shop, or hunt online.

I am an e cup, I bought sports bras in Sainsbury’s, 2 for £14.00; because I am losing weight and did not want to splash out for an expensive bra. They are really good, no monoboob and properly supportive and actually quite attractive too, one grey, one orange.

I have a triumph tri-action one which is great, really supportive. They have lots of different styles, but I like the ones that fasten at the front with a zip, so they are easy to get in and out of.

Freya Active is the least monobooby I know.

Shock Absorber for me every time.

I use the Multi Sports for gym and classes and Ultimate run for running and classes too.

They are snug so you may need to size up in the back. www.wiggle.co.uk/shock-absorber-active-multi-sports-support-dark-grey/

I got a shock absorber on amazon recently for about a tenner - in a horrible colour combo, salmon and purple - which may be why it was cheap!
