Please help me choose an office friendly perfume out of this list

Out of these perfumes which one would you choose for the office? (If any!)

Elie saab le Parfum
Chloe le Parfum
Chanel au tendre

These are the ones I have that I think aren't too overpowering? Hoping not to have to purchase new as much as I love a new perfume!

Thanks x

@Sagradafamiliar I know! Who knew Grin

Oh please!
Unless you have bathing in strong perfume it is unreasonable to say people shouldn't wear them at work.
Honestly. I have never worked with someone whose perfume was that strong

I am on this thread to tell you there are no office friendly perfumes. It’s not rocket science to understand why people like me (and fair few other posters too) would post on this sort of thread. I assumed you didn’t know rather than were just inconsiderate.

I like lemoney light scents for work personally

Sagradafamiliar · 30/07/2019 18:53

You're not inconsiderate, OP. It was thoughtful even to ask the question so really the thread only exists because you were being considerate.
I say that as someone who spends about a third of the year completely debilitated by migraines. The only time perfume has ever set me off is when I've been the wearer of it. No one should be able to smell your perfume unless they brush quite close to you.

StCharlotte · 30/07/2019 18:55

I wear Clinique Happy (orangey) and I know full well my immediate neighbour would complain if it was a problem - like I've been whingeing about his stinking Camembert all week!

Daisy was suitably light as well. I also like Chanel Eau Fraiche.

VivienneHolt · 30/07/2019 18:56

It's absolutely fine to wear perfume in an office! Unless you're spraying gallons of it around it won't cause any issues at all.

I am not familiar with any in your list so can't advise, sorry!

mummywingingit · 30/07/2019 18:57

I've been informed that we now have a ban at work in perfume...I love wearing perfume, and for work I always wear light/fresh smells that everyone compliments, including the boss herself!
I can't comment on your choices as I've never smelt them, but if looking for alternatives, I highly recommend
Armani - She
Narciso Rodriguez- poudree (my fave)

ElspethFlashman · 30/07/2019 18:59

I work with a doctor who wears the Chanel. It's nice.

I'm a nurse so have some experience in having to week out incredibly subtle perfumes. We're certainly allowed wear them, just not strong ones, that is a no-no.

This year I'm wearing Replica Sailing Day. Virtually imperceptible, but I still like it a lot. Last year I wore Lovely by SJP. Another year it was a Vera Wang one. Another year it was Pleasures by Estee Lauder. Another year it was that one by Philosophy whose name escapes me, the one that smells like clean sheets.

Songes · 30/07/2019 18:59

It’s quite an American thing, I think, to ban perfume at work. Seems to be creeping over here now, too.

I’m glad I work with a team of women who all love perfume as much as I do!

thedevilinablackdress · 30/07/2019 18:59

The reason I said none was also because a lot of perfumes cause me to have migraines. It's not that common, but ideally in an office environment with lots of people, scents should be kept to a minimum.

Cosentyx · 30/07/2019 19:01

It’s quite an American thing, I think, to ban perfume at work.

It is? Says who? I worked there for decades and am working here now, temporary job, never heard of a ban on perfumes in standard office jobs . . . Hmm

Songes · 30/07/2019 19:02

I always wear perfume to work, btw, but on the lighter side.

Hermes Jour d’Hermes
Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche
Chanel Gabrielle
Dior Joy
Nivea and Dove perfume parlour dupes
J-Low Glow
Various from Philosophy and the CLEAN range

....are some of my office faves.

Songes · 30/07/2019 19:04

@Consentyx

I got the impression from talking a lot to Americans on Fragrantica (perfume community). I’m happy to be corrected, though!

myusernameisnotmyusername · 30/07/2019 19:04

I have never thought about this. I want people in the office to smell my perfume! I work in open plan and everyone wears nice perfume. Please don't worry about office friendly perfumes.

FraggleRocking · 30/07/2019 19:09

I’m incredibly sensitive to perfumes, even subtle ones. It triggers sinus headaches. You’re being considerate to think of what would affect others but there will probably always be some who struggle with any scent. I would prefer it if perfumes were banned in offices but understand this is a minority thought.

Cosentyx · 30/07/2019 19:11

I mean, how do you ban it? Police what type of shampoo, soap, deodorant and laundry detergent they use in their own homes on their own bodies?

YesQueen · 30/07/2019 19:14

I wear loads of different ones. I save my sweet smelling stuff for the end of the week as my colleague that works the start of the week hates sweet smells Grin
I don't tend to wear anything heavy but sweet/citrus/laundry type

PuppyMonkey · 30/07/2019 19:16

I think what smells nice and light to you might smell horrible and overpowering to other people, OP. You’ve already mentioned noticing other people overdoing it, so how do you know your lighter fragrance won’t be equally as unpleasant to many colleagues?

Would it be so terrible to just not do it at work? You’ll survive! Grin

MoltonSilver · 30/07/2019 19:18

This thread is actor an eye opener.

How about using the matching body lotion for one of the perfumes you like? It should give a much more subtle scent.

AnneKipanki · 30/07/2019 19:19

Sensitive to fragrance here too !
Walking down the detergent aisle in supermarket makes my eyes and throat nip .
I also get headaches if people wear strong perfume.

AnneKipanki · 30/07/2019 19:22

I suppose it is thoughtful of OP to ask .

My preference would be none .
That includes after shave too .

MrsAJCrowley · 30/07/2019 19:45

OMG... the posters saying about hating perfume wouldn’t last five minutes on our team! People are regularly spraying and refreshing scent and no one seems to have an issue (one guy even sprays deodorant all over the palms of his hands...) and on our team people would definitely say if they had an issue! I’m also the only girl on the team! It’s like a boots tester aisle in our office lol

thisenglishlife · 30/07/2019 20:10

The Chloe out of your list or a cologne, someone mentioned Clinique Happy, that would be good for summer.

Easilyflattered · 30/07/2019 20:58

I wear M and S sheer radiance for work, it's really light and lemony. It's not my favourite perfume but very subtle and not migraine inducing, I get migraines myself.

I personally hate people who wash their clothes with so much over powering fabric softener that it wafts past. It's a cheap synthetic smell.

Namaste6 · 30/07/2019 21:09

I would vote for Chanel. Elie Saab literally makes me want to vomit. Chloe smells sleepy.

abombinitaly · 30/07/2019 21:11

CK one. Still the perfect scent
