Breast reduction & tummy tuck

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but I’m just wondering if anyone has had a boob reduction and tummy tuck?

I am currently trying to lose 3 stone. I am a 34HH but I’ve always had a big bust. When I was a size 8 I was a FF. I suffer from back and neck problems and always have and I think this is because of my bust. I can’t get a reduction in the NHS (I understand this, they are overstretched) so was thinking of getting one myself when I lose my weight. Has anyone had this done previously? Did you feel better? Did it look good and still natural?

I’m also thinking about a tummy tuck. At the moment, I have a bit of an overhang on my tummy and I’m thinking this might get worse as I lose weight and my skin might be wrinkly. I’m 48 so I’m unsure as to whether my tummy will look good without a tummy tuck, again has anyone had this done and what was your experience?

Thank you.

I’m 5 months post reduction. I started at a 32K, I’m probably about an F now, but still can’t wear normal bras. I hasn’t been completely straightforward and I will probably need a small revision in a couple of months, but it was absolutely the best thing I have ever done. I did have NHS approval but the operation kept getting cancelled, so I went private in the end. It’s has resolved a lot of my shoulder/upper back/neck/arm pain. Bizarrely it has also helped my difficulty sleeping. There is a helpful FB group called Breast Reduction UK you may want to join. Can’t help with TT.

I had one on the NHS for severe debilitating neck and back pain. I went from a K to a DD.

It was absolutely the best thing I’ve ever had done. Totally pain free now. Clothes fit and l look totally different.

And the best thing?! Going out and buying the cheapest bra I could find, just because l could! That was a great feeling!

Don't do it. It bloody hurts.

orangesun35 · 28/07/2019 16:29

Yes it does hurt as lot . But only for a few days .. but l think it’s worth it . How old are you ?

I had a breast reduction a year ago. I’m 44, went from 32GG to 32E.
Life changing, worth every penny. Very little pain, just discomfort.

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 28/07/2019 16:46

I don’t remember it being particularly painful. No worse than a C section.

Go for it, it was life changing for me. It’s the cosmetic surgery process that has the highest satisfaction rate of them all.

I had this back in February.

I had implants a few years ago and time, gravity and weight gain had made them and therefore me, look matronly.

I had it done in US where it is really common to have breast reduction/lift, tummy tuck and liposuction on your flanks at the same time. They call it the Mommy Makeover. I had the old implants removed, smaller (more age appropriate) implants inserted and a lift, together with the tummy tuck and liposuction.

I was quite sore for a couple of weeks after surgery and on the second night post op, I was crying and saying I wished I hadn’t had it done, but that was just the one night.

I’ve now got a completely flat washboard stomach. I’m pretty sporty and fit but no matter how much I exercised and dieted, I just couldn’t get rid of that last little bit of podgy tummy. The surgeon told me that it’s due to childbirth and that surgery is the only way to get rid of it.

My boobs are smaller and higher and I’ve got a lovely hour glass waist.

My confidence has gone sky high. For the first time in years I’m wearing vest tops as I haven’t got those awful heavy dropping boobs and overhanging tummy.
Im really enjoying this summer. I’ve bought tons of new clothes that I wouldn’t have worn before and am getting so many compliments on my overall appearance. Nobody except DH (who paid for op, as he knew how unhappy I was with my figure) knows that I have had it done but people are saying how well I look, I’m looking younger, have I been working out a lot etc etc.

I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again. I wish I had had it done years ago. I feel so much better about myself which has filtered through to every other part of my life.

jackstini · 28/07/2019 20:36

How much have pp paid for the TT op?

I have tried everything to get rid of the caesarean shelf and nothing else has worked

Sippingteaquietly · 29/07/2019 16:11

smileannie completely agree big boobs when you are older do make you look matronly. I’m not wanting implants I just want them reduced. At the moment they are still quite dense and firm but I know they will start to droop eventually and look like spaniels ears.

Ive always been big and I’ve always hated it. I hate the way guys always look at them. I won’t go out without a jacket on, I won’t wear a tee-shirt so I’m always in baggy tops which make me look bigger than I am.

I just hate being this big.

The best thing I ever did, the pain for me was similar to wearing a really uncomfortable bra, ie minor. I couldn't recommend it enough.

ilovecherries · 29/07/2019 17:14

I didn’t find it particularly painful either. I didn’t have anything more than paracetamol, from 4 hours post op. The first few days felt as if I was three days post natal. I wasn’t very well after, for a good few days, and needed an additional night in hospital, but pain was never an issue.
