Face wash for child

Just wondering if any of you can recommend a face wash that my almost 11yo boy can use? I'd like it to be as natural as possible, no nasties and not harsh. He is quite an early developer and he had a spot on his chin a couple of weeks ago.. He plays a lot of sport so is constantly sweaty and I think before bed his face could do with a good clean!!

Thanks!

Oil cleanser? Jojoba oil rubbed in well and a warm flannel to remove it?
It’s worked wonders for my skin and completely natural with the flannel acting as an exfoliator.

MooGoo Milk Wash is really nice. Expensive but big bottle.

Great thanks I'll have a look at both of those.

Everything for young people is aimed at those who have acne and he doesn't so I don't want anything drying his skin out!

It's best not to dry your skin out whether or not you have acne. I second trying both of the above suggestions. MooGoo products are fab for the skin.

I have terrible problems with skin, I have eczema and rosacea, am sensitive to lots of products. I also have a v greasy t zone with v dry cheeks. I can get breakouts too. Like you I like no/low toxin products.

I have tried millions of products over the years and my skin has never been as good as it is now having used Tropic skincare products. They are really good but probably too pricey for an 11 yr old boy. They do just do a cleanser though that may work for his skin but I would try to jojoba oil and MooGoo first.

My DS uses the same African Black Mud soap as I do, actually DH uses it too.
Its very good at clearing the skin whilst not drying it out, and its a pleasing charcoal grey colour. I get ours from the local health food store, and its all natural Smile

Cerave?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 28/07/2019 17:55

My DS is older (19) but uses a Konjac sponge and Carbon Therapy soap. Last ages , kept in a soap dish, They sponge can be used just with water .
. He has a beard and uses Lush Kalamazoo ( these are what he asks he to buy for him)

He used to use a Tea Tree face wash (Superdrug one I think ) when he was younger . It's quite gentle , antibacterial but doesn't dry skin out .

My DS12 has a Benson's Organics Skin wash. Has also used a GreePeople OY! face wash which was v gentle. Look at Spots and Stripes which I want to try but it's expensive and Sam Farmer is meant to be good.

Was in the same boat with 11yo DD. Was at a bit of a loss for what to use (she wasn't keen on the Simple facewash I'd bought) so splashed out on the Spots & Stripes cleanser which seems very gentle. She had been getting occasional spots, but hasn't had any since she started using it, though not sure how regularly she remembers to do it unless I remind her...! Some useful alternative tips here, thanks.

I bought a Nutrogena one with a pump that i put in the shower. My dd who is 13 and has eczema uses it and it doesn't irritate her skin.

Pinkkahori · 28/07/2019 20:12

It's the Hydro Boost one.

StripyHorse · 29/07/2019 09:11

Tisserand tea tree face soap, or if you want something milder, Sukin face soap. Both last for ages. Even the tea tree one isn't drying, my pre-teen DDs use it.

DerbyRacer · 30/07/2019 19:10

My 11 year old uses Dermol 500 which was recommended by a skin specialist at hospital. It seems to be ok but I think I will try some of the suggestions on here because he does come out in spots occasionally.

postitnot · 30/07/2019 21:41

My 11 year old and I use superdrug's vitamin E hot cloth cleanser (well I do, she does when she remembers) and we both love it!
And it's very reasonably priced.

neveradullmoment99 · 30/07/2019 21:48

My dd was getting a bit of a spotty nose. She uses the Clearasil wash and after she has done that she wipes her face with tee tree oil wipes from asda. They have really cleared up in a matter of days! Asda also do a facial wash with tee tree oil if you don't want to use Clearasil. I use the clearasil so we share it.

neveradullmoment99 · 30/07/2019 21:49

My dd is 12

MoverOfPaper · 30/07/2019 21:49

CeraVe is worth a try. I personally prefer the creamy one to the foamy one. Use it with a clean facecloth every wash.

My 10 year old prefers Dermalogica Ultracalming Cleanser as she says CeraVe stings. Dermalogica is stupidly expensive but I’ve got her a small bottle and she uses it sparingly.

Olive30 · 01/08/2019 05:50

I would try Simple for him. A very good facialist told me these were good quality for not many ££. Or Dermaliguca.
