Size 16... 38 DD.... wondering if will suit me, really paranoid about my arms, thinking to size up for extra comfort?

Can size 16 pull of this dress?

I'm about a 16 with fat flabby arms and a big belly and I probably wouldn't buy that.

It looks to me like it's going to emphasise the belly and it looks shapeless.
Though I usually wear a belt with dresses which would help somewhat with the shapelessness.

I never ever wear a sleeveless dress without a cardigan or jacket personally either.

I think it might depend how tall you are.... a 5ft2 size 16 and a 5ft10 size 16 are very different figures. I like the dress! Wouldn't size up as it wouldn't work too loose - would probably have those massive armholes which show your bra.

Im 5 foot 7 and a size 16 i would try it to be honest if it were me x

My daughter has this dress in a size 12. I personally think it would have been better getting a 14 (even though she definitely isn't a 14) as it is quite tight on top

It's not really so much to do with size, but your actual build/shape as well as what you feel comfortable and confident in. I'm 5ft and a size 14/16 and I know I couldn't wear that because I have very broad shoulders and I'm not comfortable with my arms. But I can wear tight mini skirts whereas a lot of people my size couldn't. I struggle with low-cut tops in my size cos they're made for people with bigger boobs than me so I stick to what I know will work in terms of cut and shape. Hope you know what I mean. It just depends. If you can't decide, just go for it! You might be pleasantly surprised, but don't think it's cos of your size, we all suit different things!

It doesn’t look like it would hang well for someone with breasts xx

I would buy it - who's going to be looking at my arms and/or belly.

I know this style is cool and comfortable. Size up OP and wear it with a smile. Grin

No, not loose fitting as you think.

thedevilinablackdress · 28/07/2019 09:27

If you like the dress and it fits well, then yes because you'll be confident and happy.
But if you're going to be thinking about your arms all the time, maybe look for something with sleeves.

Pomgirl · 29/07/2019 12:24

Didn’t buy in the end, think the material will be to stiff and maybe get that little fat arm extra boob Blush

I'm a 20 and saw that dress - I would have ordered it online but can't be arsed to go to a store quite some way away. Having said that, I don't know if they do it in a 20 anyway!

I'm not proud of my upper arms but I am willing to bare them. However, I find a lot of sleeveless garments have massive armholes so you can see half your bra. Some can be stitched but most can't. It bloody annoys me.

Drifts int reverie recalling the prettiest nightdress that I bought from Tesco in 1984...

Hang on - you can buy F&F stuff at Next?!

Oh God, I'm doomed!
