Basically just what it says on the title Sad

I get married tomorrow and my skin is usually perfect. I have the biggest, ugliest giant spot on my face ever. I know you shouldn't mess with them but I had to try and pop it and now it's a big open wound and I can see the whitehead in it but can't draw it out or pop it. What do I do??

Go to a dermatologist for a steroid injection. It sounds like cystic acne. That’s exactly what mine look like anyway, I get maybe one or two a year. They are awful.

ree348 · 26/07/2019 10:16

Let it heal and don't touch it! Your make up artist should be able to cover it well, make up does wonders!

Hope tomorrow is a great day for you!

EatenByDinosaurs · 26/07/2019 10:16

Can you get to a Boots or Superdrug? If so, get some Hydrocolloid plasters, and whack one of those on asap.
They are amazing at vanishing spots, will see if I can find more info for you.

Also congratulations!!! Grin Cake Flowers

ree348 · 26/07/2019 10:18

Ohh that's a really good idea by eaten

EatenByDinosaurs · 26/07/2019 10:23

Thanks ree they really are miracle workers, I'm not in the UK but friends who are have asked in Boots and Superdrug and they stock them.

If there was more time I'd suggest Amazon priming the Corsx ones, but this is an emergency situation!

cherryblossomgin · 26/07/2019 10:27

www.boots.com/la-roche-posay-effaclar-anti-imperfection-corrector-15ml-10083678 Try this, I love their acne range, my skin changed in one day. Also ice it and don't touch it.

ZazieTheCat · 26/07/2019 10:30

Compeed blister plaster over it ASAP and sleep tonight with it on (it’s a hydrocolloid plaster and more effective than own brand versions I’ve).

purplefig · 26/07/2019 10:46

Reccomend what @EatenByDinosaurs suggested - that'll draw all the gunk out and give it a clean environment for it to heal. You should be left with a red mark tomorrow, which can be covered with concealer and foundation. Like @ZazieTheCat says, a compeed blister patch is effective too - that's what I always use (you can cut to size).

On a slightly less practical note, I just want to say that I also broke out in the lead up to my wedding. To the point that my make-up artist actually said "right, we'll need higher coverage than at the trial", which was a bit distressing! BUT...honestly I really didn't notice it on the day. I was far too busy having an amazing time. All the best for tomorrow!

luckygreeneyes · 26/07/2019 10:48

Get your face smothered in sudocreme. Your MUA will sort the rest. Have a lovely wedding day!

Lazydaisies · 26/07/2019 10:55

Put salt solution on a plaster to draw out the pus.

TheFaerieQueene · 26/07/2019 11:02

Your dilemma reminded me of My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

Seriously though, have a wonderful day.

I get married tomorrow and my skin is a mess, please help!
Labrodite · 26/07/2019 13:51

I don’t use anything except La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo on my spots - I’ve been using it for years and it’s always effective!

Dottodotbride · 26/07/2019 14:35

You're all amazing - thank you. I've been in work today so nipped to boots for the plasters and will be applying once I'm home. H2B is staying at a hotel so at least he won't see my messy face!

Ok so I've got the blister plaster on and it's got what appears to be swelling on the plaster where the spot is so it looks to be working. Do I leave it on overnight or take it off and let some air get to it? Conscious that I'm getting my make up done at 8:30 and need it to have dried out ideally.

OP posts:
HernameisGio · 26/07/2019 19:29

Leave it on! Maybe change it for a clean one later. I leave them on overnight and they do wonders. The white patch is where the patch is swelling from the liquid it is drawing out. The hydrocolloid plasters are miracle workers just let them do their job :) and have a wonderful day

Leatherflamingle · 26/07/2019 19:30

Leave it on!
They really do work miracles

longnotlanky · 26/07/2019 19:38

I came to second the hydrocolloid plaster. They are amazing. Leave it on until the morning. Your skin will be dry, all of the moisture goes into the dressing.

I hope it helps! You'll look gorgeous once you have a dab of concealer and a big smile on your face. And any photographer will smooth your skin out during editing so just worry about enjoying your self!!!

Congrats in advance

QuantumWeatherButterfly · 26/07/2019 19:39

Just to reassure you, OP - my skin was an utter disaster on my wedding day. Typically, it was perfectly clear until about 5 days before, then I just had the most appalling breakout. Truly dreadful.

My make up artist was an absolute star, by the time she had finished you couldn't see a single spot. My skin looked flawless.

Dottodotbride · 26/07/2019 21:13

Brilliant, I'll keep it on. Thank you so much for the advice and well wishes! I'm off to get an early night and will see you on the other side Grin x

If there is a supermarket near you still open you can get hydrocolloid plasters

Morrison's and As a do their own labelled as blister plasters

Oldraver · 26/07/2019 22:44

lostfrequencies · 27/07/2019 08:27
