Have an interview for a senior admin role at a firm of solicitors tomorrow - how do I dress? My work style is smart, mainly dresses and heels but I haven't worn a suit since about 2004.

How should I dress? Will a smart dress smart enough? I really need want this job!

A smart dress will be fine, particularly in this weather. Usual clothes for that role will be more on the casual side (definitely no suit required I shouldn't think) so slightly smarter for the interview will work just fine.

Oh, and good luck!

I don't know about solicitors but I'm a senior administrator and at my last interview (summer) I wore a smart, navy shift dress with a thin cardigan and heels. The interview before that (winter) I wore the same dress but with a jacket (not a matching one). I got both jobs Smile and they were at fairly traditional offices. Tomorrow is going to be super hot so they may be less smart than normal anyway. I think as long as you are neat, clean, and smart with a professional attitude the specific clothes you wear matter less.

Yes, good luck, glad someone is getting a bite!

I’m a senior admin in finance and for an interview would usually wear a smart dress with court shoes or ballet flats. If the dress covers your shoulders you can probably skip a blazer on account of the heat but it might not be a terrible idea to bring one- if the office has decent a/c you might end up cold!

And good luck Grin
