Eyelash extensions

I am thinking about getting some eyelash extensions for my holiday.

How long do they last? And do they stop you from using products on your face?

I normally wash my face with soap in the shower and I will need to use lots of sunscreen on holiday.

Anything else I need to know?

We have a villa with a pool so will be doing a fair amount of swimming. It sounds as if it won't be worth it.

I might go and just have them tinted instead.

I've had eyelash extensions and they looked really nice and lasted really well, but the whole not getting them wet thing and not being able to rub my eyes was a struggle. I've also had a lash lift and tint and honestly that worked just as well, lasted longer and I was able to wash my face normally. If I was you I'd go for a lift and tint x

You absolutely can and should wash your eyes with eyelash extensions. I use face wash or soap as usual and all my usual creams. Just don’t use any oil based products close to the lash line as it can dissolve the glue, and don’t rub with cotton or anything where the fibres might come off and get stuck in your lashes. I’m not sure I’d bother just for a holiday, though that’s how I started and I’m still having infills 1.5years later!

This is the best advice from Moka & Sarah: Give your extensions a thorough clean every day: Using an oil free foaming or gel cleanser lightly massage at the base of extensions and along the eyelid. Splash with plenty of water and very carefully pat dry. This is a very important part of your eyelash extension aftercare so don’t skip it! Some people are under the impression the should be left alone but this is not the case
