Eyebrow microblading

If you’ve had this done, would love to hear what your experience was like!

I’m seriously considering having mine done as they’re naturally quite sparse and light, and I’m sick of constantly filling them in/looking a bit different without makeup on.

What’s a rough price for it? Anything to look out for when finding a clinic?

Following with interest as I was about to start a thread asking this too.

YesQueen · 19/07/2019 18:56

I've had micro pigmentation which is done with a single needle machine. Love it, it hurt Grin but was worth it
I think I paid £300 including top up but that was done by a student and the top up by the owner

ultrababy · 19/07/2019 19:01

I've had microblading done. Admittedly it wasn't drastically different after but it saves time on having to fill them in. I found it very painful despite numbing cream. I'm glad I had it done though

ultrababy · 19/07/2019 19:02

Oh and it cost £250 with a top up six weeks later.

DrinkSangriaInThePark · 19/07/2019 19:05

I've had PhiBrows done, which is a type of microblading. I'm blonde and fair skinned so wanted them to look natural and they really do! I'm not in England but I paid €400 for it.

weleasewoderick22 · 19/07/2019 19:33

I had mine done 3 years ago, and I'm only now needing it done again. I paid £200 and it was worth every penny. It didn't hurt too much ( they will put on numbing cream first), but it itches like mad when healing.

Do your research though. I asked anyone I saw with their brows done where they'd had it done. One name kept coming up, so I went with here. Make sure whoever you use gives you a free consultation and explains the procedure and your expectations.

hth.

Well worth the money (about £200 I think) plus yearly top up at£100

100% agree with getting recommendations- dont just look at photos as could be other people's work

Blobfish1 · 20/07/2019 09:01

My daughter bought me eyebrows for mothers day, I wasn't that keen at all! They looked fab on her, but didn't mean I wanted them! She had done the research, followed a Cardiff salon on Instagram. They had posted hundreds of clients before and after pics. My natural eyebrows had become very sparse over the years and I never left home without putting them on. So off we went to Cardiff for my microblading. I'd taken a couple of snapshots of brows which I liked but stipulated I did not want them too dark and fairly natural looking. I did not want 20 year old eyebrows on my 53 year old forehead! The shape was drawn on, numbing gel applied. Ten minutes later I really wanted to tell the technician the numbing gell hadn't worked! 😳 The procedure was uncomfortable but not unbearable. More blood than I'd imagined. I left the salon with my instructions and coconut oil. DO NOT TOUCH MY EYEBROWS FOR 2 WEEKS! I found this to be abject torture. The following day they were BLACK and slightly swolen. Then 2 days later they crusted over (nice) and became incredibly itchy. This is all part of the healing process. I really stuck to the info sheet for 12 days, then just couldn't stick it any more. I gave my whole face a really nice cleanse and wiped away the scaly skin covering my new brows. I was delighted at what I saw! Perfect brows. 4 week top up which I only wanted a few hairs added, my choice. We discussed a slightly warmer colour for next time, when ever that might be. The most difficult part for me was the healing process, particularly going to work facing people. But I am so happy with my mother's day present and not having to faff at all with my new brows! 🤗
£150

Workingisntworking · 20/07/2019 09:08

@bobfish1 would you mind telling me which salon you used? I'm local to Cardiff and I've been looking around for a while now but I'm nervous about choosing where to go

twattymctwatterson · 20/07/2019 09:34

I had mine done at the beginning of the year and it cost about £170 which included top up. It was a bit stingy but not particularly painful.

I thought they were a bit drastic at first but are really natural looking now and it's the best thing I've ever done

Blobfish1 · 20/07/2019 09:53

@Workingisntworking
Hi there, not sure if I'm posting correctly? New on here this morning. We went to the #thecontourclinic in whitchurch. Sorry don't know how to add links! Haha. I'm very pleased any way.

EmmaJR1 · 20/07/2019 13:00

I lost bits of eyebrows in pregnancy so I treated myself a couple of months ago.

£260 including the top up 6 weeks later. The healing process is the worst bit!

Mine were £300 about a year ago. The two weeks healing time is a pain (in terms of nuisance not discomfort) but it’s worth it. Before I had it done I just had a few blond/ grey wisps of hair and now they look full but natural. I’ll definitely have them topped up when they start to fade.

I had mine done as I used to shave them off and pencil them in (70's teenager). They hardly grew back and I got fed up with pencilling them in. I paid £200 including 6 week top up. It's £95 for a top up once a year. Best thing I ever did.

tillytoodles1 · 20/07/2019 13:43

I meant toad that apart from flaking a bit after the first time they have never bothered me. No pain while being done, slightly itchy for a few days and that's it.

FleurDuMal · 20/07/2019 14:42

I had this done about 3 months ago, and it’s great! It looks very natural and cost £300.

Writersblock2 · 20/07/2019 14:52

I had microblading previously but it didn’t last very long on me. The problem is also that it does create a fair amount of trauma in the skin, and I’ve recently been reading that this means after four or five times, the scar tissue will start to build and you might not be able to get them again.

Because of that, this time I went with SMP - ombré brows. I’ve just come back from my appointment today. Much less painful than microblading. They look fab. A bit sore and swollen now but that’s to be expected. Aftercare is similar to microblading.

So I’d suggest looking at different methods/types of brows and see if microblading is right for you (or a different method).

Sajeeda please stop posting business links here.

@Writersblock2 oh wow, I didn’t actually think about scar tissue etc, thanks for letting me know. Definitely something to consider. Haven’t heard of ombré brows so will look into it!

@ultrababy thanks for the pic, your brows look so good but to be fair they naturally have a nice shape to begin with!

@EmmaJR1 your results are amazing, so natural! Such a good colour match too!

@namechangeninjaevervigilant wow that is such a massive transformation!

Thanks for all the replies - really interesting! The 2 week healing period does sound tedious, I have visions of having black sharpie brows at work etc haha, you can’t really style it out can you!

Another question, what do your brows look like after they start to fade a few months later? I have seen some photos where the brows just look almost pencilled in and undefined after time, is this normal?

Does anyone have recommendations in London or the Midlands?
