Ok, so she doesn't know but I WILL find her something for her 60th birthday party in 4 weeks time. She has a tendency to frumpiness and comfort clothes. These are the things you need to know:

She is size 14, no bum but big tum.
Boobs ok but not prone to having massive cleavage on view...I will be taking her bra shopping before the event...someone needs to talk underwired with her
Dark hair in a bob.
Can't wear anything short.
Will want her arms covered

Ok, that's all the don'ts

The dos are...

She has great skin, no turkey neck or that sort of thing!
She's happy with a bit of sparkle.
She can wear black.
She's quite arty so colour is fine too.

Ummm...don't know what else you might need to know. Mrs B...Cod et al ....get to work....

Aaahthankyou

What about a trouser suit, either black or ivory in a smart, silky fabric. She can wear a cami (or top in quite rigid fabric) underneath and a really standout necklace and high heels, will look very smart and not too much flesh on display. Think Hobbs and maybe Phase 8 do something like this.

She wants to look at dresses by GHost, their colours and cuts flatter all women especially the more mature woman.

sharp lines - yes!
Floaty - might make her a bit blobby? (I speak from experience, we are similarish shapes, I am bit slimmer and bigger boobs though)
Also ghost too £££ I think.
Hand on will look at wildwoman's links...

Lovely WW but she is 60 (!) and I can't imagine for a minute she'd wear a strapless bra!

and a sparkly top underneath and some jewellry made by you?

DANCESwithDumbledore · 30/07/2007 16:59

Gawd, sorry to be so negative. I just want her to look fab, she really does need something to wow with. I hate to say this but she does have really quite bad dress sense
