Supportive alternatives to ballet flats

Is there such a thing? I've got weak ankles and I find I need a sole that's cushioned but I can't find a pretty summer shoe that's not a ballet flat - ie very flat with thin soles and no ankle support. I'm not too keen on the fit flop ballet flats because they look a bit frumpy but prepared to be corrected if they're not 'in real life' but is there an alternative? Doesn't have to be a ballet flat, just something similarly chic I could wear with skirt or cropped trousers and smart enough for work or a night out.

I'm living in trainers and I don't want to!

Sketchers do something that looks a bit like a ballet flat but has loads of cushioning

Or check out Ecco, some of their styles in the lighter colours may work. They are so comfy.

Have a look at Clarks, ECCO and Camper for options.

  1. Loafers, boat or deck shoes
These are super comfy once they have stretched to fit (were tight at first), very comfy, can even sprint in them: www.marksandspencer.com/leather-low-heel-bow-boat-shoes/p/p22483705?image=SD_01_T02_8294_VS_X_EC_90&color=TAN&prevPage=srp
  1. Flatform (flat with a bit of a platform) sandals. Something like below (not saying that they are pretty or super stylish but they will be comfy and supportive):

  1. Brogues or similar, smarter than trainers
