How to avoid ironing school uniform shirts

Can anyone advise how to get around the ironing? It is not something I do - except for job interviews. The school doesn't allow polo shirts. I noticed stores sell easy-iron shirts, but I don't see the point of that, because if I have to iron anyway it's not going to make a big difference. Also, people comment non-iron claims aren't even true. Full-time working with long commute, I'm already behind with even more important things, so I'd rather not have to get into ironing on a regular basis. I'm not very picky about the shirt being perfect. Maybe it's about hanging them up a smart way, or picking the right laundry programme, or something else... Has anyone found good way to get around the whole procedure?

Do you have a tumble dryer?
I’ve bought mainly M&S non-iron school shirts. They get tumble dried and straight out into a hanger.
Most of the year the shorts are worn under a jumper or blazer anyway.

Easy iron shirts in tumble dryer - take out as soon as they are done and hang up. Not as good as ironed but certainly passable for school

Hand held garment steamer, I got one recently and it’s a game changer. You don’t get the total crispness you get with ironing, but it takes about a minute to get all of the creases out of a shirt and make it fit to wear.

Shirts not shorts obviously (although I bought the non iron shorts/trousers/skirts too)

Tumble dry and take out & hang up whilst still hot. Haven’t used my iron for years!

Teach the DC?
Get them to wear a jumper (except not in this weather)?

Peg on the line by the side stitches upside down - shirt front to the sun for the bleaching! Weight means they don’t need ironing - hang up when brought in.

Take “easy iron” shirts out of the washing machine as soon as it stops. Use the delay timer ( or whatever it’s called) on the washing machine and the alarm on your phone so you can do this.

Give them a good shake and put in the tumble drier for about 10 mins. You are not trying to dry them, just heat them up. Then hang up immediately on coat hangers and fasten the top button. Make sure cuffs are not turned inside sleeves and collar is sitting correctly.

That’s it.

M&S non-iron shirts (not easy iron)
Tumble/line dry & hang in the airing cupboard.

Good enough. (Remember the teacher's priority is smell over creases every time!)

Many thanks to you all. This sounds very encouraging indeed. I am very curious to try the recommendations. A lot more confident now that this might be manageable... Many thanks again!

Same as everyone else. Buy non-iron, hang them up as soon as they come out of the machine. 10 minutes in the tumble dryer if you really have to.

I only iron them once a year when I put the name tapes in.
