Straighteners for a lovely sharp bob?

I've moaned oft about my rubbish fine hair so thinking of trying this sharp blunt Bob, (Ashley Jensen as Agatha Raisin) would I be better with the smaller 'mini' straighteners due to the crapness of my hair?

Either will do it but the mini ones are great for a very straight fringe

It's the fringe being ok that alludes me, it always seems to puff up,then go skewiff so even if just got the minis for that, I'd be happier!

Oh, I love a sharp bob, my favourite style.

I think minis would be better for the length and your hair type.

To minimise heat on your hair, maybe consider splashing out on a keratin straightening treatment?

I had a long bob done last year and found the thinner ghd’s much easier to use. I also have to normal, wide, ones as my hair before was very long and thick. These was just bulky on my hair and didn’t get the back done as easily.

Gorgeous isn't it? A straightener of any kind will work if you pull it through slowly enough, so will curling tongs. IMHE Fringes are notoriously difficult to maintain. It has to be exactly the right length. Do bear in mind that her hair has been tweaked to perfection before the cameras roll - impossible for real people IRL.

You've picked my favourite style of all time Titiana. In the olden days when I was young I wanted hair like Cathy McGowan (the Claudia Winkleman of the 60s) but my hair is too wavy. I've given up now and have a short, choppy pixie cut. You can''t fight your hair.

Fine hair! I sympathise. For what it's worth my hairdresser told me that with fine hair you have to be extra careful with shampoo and use shampoo without an ingredient whose name I helpfully cannot remember. I only know that certain types of expensive shampoo (natch) are much better at making it look less limp. And also she suggested using clarifying shampoo every now and then to get rid of product build up.. Have you tried those big hair rotating brushes.. they do boost fine hair and would also be good for a bob. Demos on You Tube.

I've got this (also have very fine hair) and I just use my old normal size GHDs which I bought back in 2004 - I just put John Frieda three day straight frizz spray on it and I'm away!

Have tried various other hair styles and had layers put in or tried to go longer, curly etc etc over the years, and tbh I always ending up going back to the short sharp bob because, actually, it's so easy to look after on a day to day basis. The straightening takes no time at all for me as I'm so used to it now - and after I've done that, it will stay completely perfect all the time through wind, rain and hurricanes for at least the next two days. That'll do for me.

Never had any bother doing my fringe. Confused

I use the short hair GHDs even on my long thick hair as they are way better for removing frizz.
