Post-baby style rut

Baby is now 10 months old and I really miss my pre-baby self, particularly in terms of style and appearance. I've put lots of weight on (was a 14, now an 18/20 with a bad belly and fat arms and thighs) and feel like my wardrobe doesn't fit my lifestyle now.

I love dresses and was quite fashion conscious and stylish pre-baby. Now I pick up trackies and tee shirts off the bedroom floor and fling them on in the morning because I know I'll be spending all day on the floor with baby and getting covered in fluff and food (weaning).

I'm really fed up and am aware I'm taking no pride in my appearance.

Does anyone have experience of this and any tips on how to get my mojo back? Plus going back to work in Sept and I'm genuinely scared that people who only saw me pre baby might not recognise me and will judge how much I've let myself go. Sad

I'm in the same boat and watching with interest. I've started doing pilates and yoga (just on YouTube) which is making me feel a bit better about myself, but need shift some serious timber to fit in my work clothes in a few months.

I just don't know what is fashionable or stylish anymore and don't know where to look. Considering a personal shopper session before I go back.

Following with interest. I'm a size 14 top, 16 bottom following the birth of DC2 who is 2 months old. It's early days and I'm still breastfeeding so just want to eat all the time so I can't imagine shifting the weight yet but I'd love to feel nice in my clothes. I'm sick of feeling fat and frumpy but no idea where to start!

I looked better immediately after birth and in the first few months - then put more weight on in the 3-6 month period when the PND hit me badly. It was also winter then which didn't help.

I'm genuinely interested in a personal shopper experience but would need it to be someone who can 'take control' and give good direction and not someone who will pussyfoot around me. I'm so self conscious that it just makes me feel awkward.

Thanks Lumene, I'm now slightly obsessed with styled by susie and considering the online consultation!
