Curly Girl Method when you have to tie your hair up?

Have read lots of threads and info on CG and want to give it a go and embrace the curls after straightening for years. But.... I have to tie my hair up for work, I’m a midwife so it has to be off my neck and fairly secure. Anyone any advise of styles that won’t ruin the curls? And how I get it looking nice again the next day? Thanks

Following as I recently tried CGM for a second time but just couldn't improve my hair!

There’s a curly girl UK Facebook group which is really good. You could try asking on there.

I've found a silk scrunchie works well at keeping curls somewhat bouncy after being tied up, and stops hair getting tangled/matted (or is it just me that gets this from normal hair bobbles?) I usually just wet my hair a bit and slap in some Cantu curl cream if I want to revive the curls a few days after washing.

And make sure you don't pull the hair too tightly into the scrunchie as you'll end up pulling the curl out of the top

I wear my hair curly and wear it off my face. I use little mini bulldog clips from shops like H&M Claire's accessories- they can have nice designs and come in multi packs. Keeps your hair in the curl but secures it back just fine, you can use as many as you need to secure your hair and looks very pretty. Good luck OP!

Search on Facebook ‘curly girls UK (The original following the curly girl method’ loads of great tips on there.

Although I admit I just sling it up in a pineapple if I can’t leave it down these days.

Spiral hairbands can be good for not leaving kinks.

I use an invisibobble (you can buy similar all over the place, the sainsburys ones are good) - stops hair forming a kink. Don't pull your hair too tight or you'll pull the curl pattern out

Or put it in a bun using spin pins (with an invisibobble to hold it in place if necessary).
