I think mine looks pretty good - there's nothing hideous in his wardrobe. His brother, a few yrs older than him wears slippers around the house which I cringe at...thankfully he hasn't inherited this habit.

I once took an ancient and moth-eaten sweatshirt of dh's to the charity shop. He went and bought it back straight away. Have never tried to control his wardrobe since; however his dress sense has improved all on its own.

Dp does not really have a clue but he admits this so I buy most of his stuff for him.

MrsScavo · 28/07/2007 20:10

He could do better.

He wears very nice suits to work, but at home has a fondness for shrunken jogging pants, the kind with elasic round the bottom. ( He's now gone to arder a take away wearing them .I have threatened him with Boden pull-ons.

scattyspice · 28/07/2007 20:13

If I bought DHs clothes, he wouldn't look like DH.

AufishFeQueen · 28/07/2007 20:59

I have no problem with how my other half dresses, he really has got his own sense of style. He wears shirts and dark jeans all the time.

Tortington · 28/07/2007 21:01

not really - it errs on the chavtastic, but the man has his own style. i dont buy hi clothes am not him mum

MaryAnnSingleton · 29/07/2007 11:03

I don't buy his clothes, only things as presents but they're things he'd choose for himself anyway...he'd never buy me clothes or jewellery unless I'd chosen it first !

He has the occasional nightmare but generally ok

Bit fond of cut offs for a rather round man who won't be seeing 30 again

I do buy him the odd thing, as he does for me if he thinks I will like it.

He is also a fan of the "entertaining" slogan t-shirt but tries to buy from good brands which are organic and ethical, which I respect and which is more than I do

motherinferior · 29/07/2007 11:11

It has slowly improved during the past seven years. I do buy him stuff sometimes - or more to the point buy stuff for him off the joint household account. He very rarely buys me anything to wear as he would prefer me, I rather suspect, to cavort around in some really rather inappropriate outfits for a lady of my age.

filchthemildmanneredjanitor · 29/07/2007 11:13

yes mostly. he has a 'style' which is so uniquely him that it would feel strange if he didn't wear those things.

I do imagine him in things that i know he would look scrumptious in...i know for eg that he would look fab in a stone coloured linen suit-but he says he wouldn't wear it enough to justify buying it.

he has the odd item which is a bit though!

bananabump · 29/07/2007 11:16

My dp always looks nice, or at least adorable in an "aaw, you still wear your battered old def leppard tshirt" kinda way.

Generally he wears casual jeans/brown trousers and short sleeved shirts. He definitely has his own style which I cannot recreate no matter what I try to buy him, so no I don't buy his clothes as he's very fussy but it pays off as he always looks lovely imho.

Mind you, he's currently sitting in a rather nip-exposing white tshirt and navy blue bed shorts, stuffing toast in his mouth and I still think he looks cute so maybe I'm a tad biased.

beansontoast · 29/07/2007 11:19

he's fortunate in that he is a rangey (?)so can look good by default.

however he has a tendency to save his nice clothes for best...when 'best' is rarely required .....and so he wears his ancient t- shirts and jeans with a practical outer layer most days.

i might get him clothes at christmas...largely cos its easy
