Finding a comfy bra..

None of my bras are comfy to wear. All of them nip or dig - usually right across my ribs and give me bad heartburn. Where do you all go to get that perfect bra, the one you can't feel you are wearing?

M&S bralets for the win. I barely touch my underwires these days (C cup).

I've recently switched to non-underwired T-Shirt bras (M&S) and sports bras. The latter are soooo comfy. It may be worth going for a bra fitting at a local department store to get some advice on a style that works for you.

I was measured at Bravissima and bought two, but neither of them are good to wear for long. They said I was a 32DD but I think I need a 34, as the they strangle my ribs and I can't breathe.

I had the same issue they said (at John Lewis) I was a 32DD but I am a lot more comfortable in a 34.

Honestly you just have to go try them on. I have found some very comfortable ones and JL and Marks

Go to a proper lingerie shop, a little independent one, not a huge chain or department store. I finally did that a week or so ago, and it was so different! She knew her stock and what might work so well! I shall be back for bra 2 in a month or so, when I have lost a bit more weight.

I have spent years and £££ on "properly fitted bras" from John Lewis etc, but am still wearing ancient shitty bras because the proper ones all stick their wires in my pits and make me feel like I'm in some kind of torture device, clamping my breastbone.

Game changer!

Trial and error. Do the mn bra size thing, but don't adhere religiously, different brands, different shapes, all that matters too. Then work out what sort if cup you like best. Under wire or not. Padding or not. Consider what fabric you like best.

I order a 34c usually. I prefer underwire, no padding, and not satin material in a full cup. About every two years I trawl various lingerie shops on line. Order several different ones that meet this criteria until I find what I like, send back the rest and order 5 to 7 of the one I like (I machine wash, I have about 12 bras at any one time).

I then shop from discounted items section so that I'm only paying about £25 per bra that would have been in the £70 to £50 price range. This means I have a very colourful bra selection!

Great help ladies, I will take your advice and get this sorted. Nothing worse than spending a fortune on a bra then taking it home and it tries to strangle you.
