Foundation build up around nose and building up on nose pores??

That's the best way I can explain it. I'm using EL Double Wear and finding it seems to fill up the pores on my nose and make my nose and look bobbly. What can I do to resolve this? Other foundations don't do the bobbly thing but do cake in creases. I feel there must be something that needs doing to my nose to prevent this. A topical solution? Or dermaplaning which is only temporary.

Try adding a little moisturizer on the back of your hand and mixing with your regular foundation, plus a good translucent powder.

LoafofSellotape · 09/07/2019 12:56

How do you apply it?

LoafofSellotape · 09/07/2019 12:57

Do you exfoliate regularly?

Clara62 · 09/07/2019 13:32

I apply my foundation mixed with moisturizer with fingers.. l have a solid translucent powder that is dabbed on lightly to take off the shine.
I find as l’m getting older my old and trusted methods no longer work for me

Clara62 · 09/07/2019 13:32

Yes, l do exfoliate regular

LoafofSellotape · 09/07/2019 13:34

Try applying with a brush in small circular movements.

I use the Real Techniques countour brush which works really well ,better than the foundation brush ime.

To be honest I’m 57 soon and l am leaning away from foundation, l feel I’m more comfortable with tinted moisturizer, as you say foundation sits in the creases, makes you sweat and get all over your clothes

Buddyelf · 09/07/2019 13:53

what about trying a primer? Something like the Benefit pore-fessional could be good

Clara62 · 09/07/2019 14:17

I’ve used them all over the years, lm happy now with less is more. I still use eye makeup so I’m not totally naked 😀

sherbetstraws · 09/07/2019 14:23

Clara, try Benefit Porefessional. It makes a huge difference for me.

sherbetstraws · 09/07/2019 14:24

Use the primer on top of the foundation xx

Double Wear does this on me too. Looks great when I first put it on, shit after an hour. I’ve swapped to IT Cosmetics Matte CC Cream now instead and no issues with it settling in pores at all.

Lactic acid every night/every other night. It’ll gently exfoliate your skin. Make sure you use a good moisturiser or serum and during the day a good quality spf (uva and uvb coverage & a min of spf30).

I'm ordering some bits from The ordinary. Current skincare is estee lauder nutritious face wash on morning, EL Night Repair Wash on evening and DayWear Moisturiser. Just bought Superdrug hot cloth cleanser too. Stopped using my St Ives scrub as worried it may be too cheap for my skin but I suppose twice a week wouldn't hurt to keep on top?

I wear EL Day wear and EL primer under this then set with nyx dewy. None of my other foundation do this on my nose, its quite odd. It doesn't look like big circle pores but rather more like my nose has lots of bumps on it! With no make up on i defjnitely have little dots on my nose though its smooth to touch. Are those the sebaceous thingamabobs people talk about on here???

You need to make sure your skin is exfoliated and any moisturiser, serum and sunscreen has sunk in for at least ten minutes before applying primer and then foundation.

You need to apply it using far less than you think you need and with either a sponge/beauty blender, foundation brush or finger tips and

That st ives scrub is brutal. Avoid the manual exfoliant and go for chemical ones instead. Less trauma to the skin and a more effective, gentle, even exfoliation.

trackingmedown · 10/07/2019 13:51

I would try buffing it in with a stippling brush.
